The beloved indie folk band Mumford and Sons will make a triumphant return to London's iconic BST Hyde Park festival in the summer of 2026, a full ten years after they last headlined the event. This major announcement confirms the band's place as a top-billed act alongside other stars like Lewis Capaldi, Maroon 5, Pitbull, and Garth Brooks.
A Special Homecoming in Hyde Park
The group, famous for hits such as 'Little Lion Man' and 'The Cave', is scheduled to perform on the Great Oak Stage on July 4, 2026. Expressing their excitement, the band released a statement highlighting their deep ties to the venue. "Hyde Park is woven into our story, it’s where so many memories were made," they said. "Coming back a decade later, with all this new music, feels incredibly special. London is and always will be the band’s home. We can’t wait."
Their performance will be supported by the acclaimed rock band The War On Drugs, with more acts for that date still to be revealed.
New Music and Chart Success
Formed in London in 2007, Mumford and Sons – consisting of Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwane, and Ben Lovett – are riding a wave of recent success. Their album 'Rushmere' debuted at number one on the UK chart in April 2025.
Fans have even more to look forward to, as the band's forthcoming album, 'Prizefighter', is set for release on February 13, 2026. The new record will feature collaborations with prominent artists including Chris Stapleton and Hozier.
A Milestone for BST Hyde Park
Jim King, CEO of the live music giant AEG Presents, emphasised the significance of the band's return. He stated, "Their last Hyde Park show was a milestone for BST. Having them return at this moment in their career is something we’re incredibly proud of." This sentiment underscores the band's enduring appeal and the importance of this booking for the festival's legacy.
Tickets for the event will go on general sale on December 4 at 10 am. This is set to be one of the standout musical events of the London summer, marking a poignant homecoming for one of Britain's most successful bands.
