ITV star Coleen Nolan has shared an emotional update with fans, confirming her sadness at leaving the iconic Television Centre where Loose Women has been filmed for years. The move is part of a major shake-up for ITV's daytime lineup.
An Era Ends at Television Centre
In a video message posted to social media, Nolan expressed her deep personal connection to the West London studio complex. She revealed that the site holds profound memories, as it was where she began her television career at just nine years old with her famous sisters. The final shows from Television Centre will air before the New Year, marking the end of an era for the long-running chat show.
"It's sad to be leaving Television Centre, somewhere where I started my whole career in television," Nolan stated. She went on to explain that the departure is bittersweet, as she is also saying goodbye to crew members she has worked alongside for over two decades, describing them as close confidants and friends.
Major Schedule Changes for ITV Daytime
The studio relocation is just one part of a significant overhaul of ITV's daytime schedule. Loose Women, along with Lorraine and This Morning, will now broadcast from The H Club Studio in Covent Garden, central London. The new studio will feature a versatile LED wall to accommodate the different programmes.
While Loose Women will retain its one-hour format, its annual run will be substantially reduced. The show will now air for just 30 weeks of the year, down from a full 52-week schedule. Similarly, Lorraine will be cut to a half-hour programme and will also only broadcast for 30 weeks annually.
Conversely, Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes, now running until 9:30am each weekday. It will be produced by a separate team from the other three shows.
Heartfelt Tributes to Behind-the-Scenes Teams
Nolan was effusive in her praise for the production crew she is leaving behind. "I'm really, really going to miss them," she said. "I feel like they've shared my life with me. I've told them things behind the scenes that I would confide in with really good friends." She signed off her message with warm Christmas wishes and a plea for them to keep in touch.
The sentiment was echoed by fellow ITV presenter Dermot O'Leary, who posted a tribute to the This Morning team facing similar changes. He thanked them for their "selfless hard work" and professionalism in creating daily live television, acknowledging the crew who work "in the shadows."
Despite the move and format changes, Nolan reassured viewers that the essence of Loose Women will remain. "We shall be in central London next year," she promised. "Still doing our thing, still bringing our personal stories and our opinions, like them or not. I hope you join us there."
