Actress Michelle Keegan has officially finished filming her latest television project, the highly anticipated ITV crime drama 'The Blame'. The star marked the occasion by sharing celebratory behind-the-scenes photos with her cast and crew on social media.
A Festive Wrap Party for the Cast and Crew
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the 38-year-old confirmed she was completing her final week on set. Keegan posted a series of snaps from the wrap party, including images with co-stars like Douglas Booth and Nigel Boyle, as well as the hair and makeup team. "The final week filming The Blame. IT’S A WRAP!" she wrote in the caption. The production has been filming across various locations in Hertfordshire, London, and Essex.
Inside the Gripping Plot of 'The Blame'
The new six-part series is based on author Charlotte Langley's debut novel of the same name. The story begins with the grim discovery of the body of a teenage figure skater, Sophie Madsen, which sends shockwaves through the fictional small English town of Wakestead.
Keegan plays DI Crane, who alongside DI Radley (Douglas Booth), investigates the death. What starts as a tragic case quickly spirals into a complex web of lies, institutional cover-ups, and moral compromise within the police force itself. The official synopsis promises a deep dive into secrets, suspicion, and systemic corruption.
A Stellar Supporting Cast and Creative Team
The drama boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Alongside Keegan and Booth, viewers can expect to see Line of Duty's Nigel Boyle as forensic technician Brett Shergill, and Joe Armstrong (who starred with Michelle in 'Fool Me Once') as ice-skating coach Kyle Fraiser.
They are joined by a host of other notable names including Ian Hart, Nathan Mensah, Matilda Freeman, and Gavin Spokes. The series was commissioned by ITV's Director of Drama, Polly Hill, and written/executively produced by Megan Gallagher ('All Her Fault', 'Wolf').
Hill praised the project, calling it "a brilliant new crime thriller full of surprising twists" that tackles police corruption, exploitation, and misogyny. Executive producer Gallagher added that bringing Langley's world to screen was an "important and urgent story to tell."
'The Blame' is expected to air on ITV in 2026, though an exact release date has not yet been confirmed. For now, Michelle Keegan can enjoy a well-earned break with her family after bringing this intense new character to life.
