This Morning's Amber Jackson Leaves 'Dream Job' After 16 Years Amid ITV Cuts
This Morning Star Amber Jackson Leaves ITV After 16 Years

An emotional wave of departures has begun at ITV as the broadcaster's major restructuring plan for 2026 takes effect, with beloved This Morning fashion editor Amber Jackson among those saying goodbye.

An Emotional Farewell to a 'Dream Job'

Amber Jackson, a stylist and fashion editor for the flagship daytime show, shared a poignant video on Instagram marking the end of her 16-year tenure. The clip showed her waving goodbye to key locations at the iconic Television Centre, including the exterior of the building, the This Morning studio, and the costume department.

On-screen text in the video read: "POV: You're leaving your dream job in telly after 16 years." Crew members from the ITV programme were seen waving back in one segment. Jackson captioned the touching post: "The fashion cupboard is empty, but my heart is full. Farewell, This Morning, thank you for the memories."

ITV's Major Overhaul: Cuts and Changes

Jackson's exit is part of a wider transformation announced earlier this year. ITV revealed plans to slash more than 220 positions and reduce programme budgets as part of a massive restructuring set for 2026. Alongside the job cuts, the daytime lineup is undergoing significant alterations.

Beloved programmes are relocating from their long-time home at Television Centre to new studios at The H Club in London's Covent Garden. The schedule from 2026 will see substantial changes:

  • Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes and produced by ITV News at ITN.
  • Lorraine will be reduced to just 30 minutes, airing from 9.30am to 10am for 30 weeks a year.
  • When Lorraine is off-air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am.
  • Loose Women will retain its slot but broadcast seasonally for 30 weeks per year.

A Growing List of Departures

Jackson is not alone in her departure. She joins a growing list of familiar ITV faces who have announced their exits via social media as the restructuring unfolds. Other notable names leaving include:

  • Andrew Pierce
  • Sally Biddulph
  • Richard Gaisford
  • US correspondent Noel Phillips, who is leaving his role on Good Morning Britain

The news of Jackson's farewell prompted an outpouring of support from colleagues and fans online. One commenter wrote: "Oh my darling Amber. The last clip made me cry! You're a legend... The next chapter awaits." Another added: "I am actually crying."

As 2026 approaches, these changes mark a significant shift for ITV's daytime television, blending cost-saving measures with a refreshed production base and schedule, but at the cost of experienced talent like Amber Jackson.
