Security footage has captured a man abandoning four young kittens in the after-hours book return slot of a public library in Adelaide, in what authorities describe as a recurring pattern of neglect.
Chilling Footage Captures the Act
The incident occurred at the Greenacres Library, where CCTV recorded a man depositing the helpless animals into the external return box at around 10pm on 11 January. The four kittens, believed to be approximately six weeks old, were not discovered until a staff member opened the box the following morning, on 12 January.
Miraculously, despite spending the night confined in the metal chute, the kittens were found to be unharmed. They have since been taken into care.
