Fan Reactions and Supportive Comments

The television personality's unconventional morning meal sparked a flurry of responses from followers. One enthusiast remarked: 'Cheese for breakfast! What a fantastic diet.' Others praised the nutritional aspects, with comments such as: 'High protein and oodles of good fats! From one of your biggest fans.' and 'Breakfast cheese? This is amazing.'

Additional supportive messages included: 'Keep going, you can do it!', 'Don't forget your protein!', and 'Great start Gyles you will 'earn' that slice or two of birthday cake.' NHS Guidelines on Healthy Weight Loss

According to official NHS recommendations, individuals seeking to lose weight should aim to consume two or more portions of vegetables daily, incorporate wholegrain carbohydrates, and maintain dairy consumption at 'light and low' levels. These guidelines provide a broader context for sustainable dietary practices beyond specific low-carb approaches.

Personal Context: Brandreth's Family Health Journey

Brandreth's dietary disclosure follows his recent emotional revelations regarding his grandson Kitt's cancer diagnosis. The television star described the 2017 diagnosis as a 'shock to the system', having previously associated cancer primarily with 'unlucky middle-aged people'.

Kitt was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma—a rare form of cancer—at just 15 months old after his parents discovered a pea-sized lump near his stomach. Following treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Kitt received the all-clear in November 2017 and has remained in remission for eight years with annual check-ups.

Brandreth reflected on the experience as 'emotional', stating: 'It's a case of holding your breath, being patient and trusting in the team, and I have to say the team were matchless at every level, from the consultants right the way through to the nursing staff and everyone else.'

Last month, for World Cancer Day, Brandreth publicly supported GOSH Charity's appeal to fund a world-leading Children's Cancer Centre, highlighting his ongoing commitment to paediatric healthcare advocacy.

This Morning continues to air weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and is available for streaming on ITVX.
