BAFTA 2026 Winners Wunmi Mosaku and Jessie Buckley Twin in Blue Gowns at After-Party

Fresh from their triumphant victories at the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2026, winners Wunmi Mosaku and Jessie Buckley led the star-studded celebrations at the Don Julio Tequila Winners' Bar after-party. The duo, aged 39 and 36 respectively, stunned in matching shades of silky blue gowns, laughing and comparing their coveted gongs while toasting their success with tequila cocktails at the Southbank Centre venue.

Double Act Steals the Spotlight

In a night packed with A-list glamour, it was the twinning winners who captured the spotlight, proving that great minds—and great wardrobes—think alike. Jessie Buckley bagged the Best Actress in a Leading Role award for her performance in Hamnet, while Wunmi Mosaku earned the Best Supporting Actress prize for her role in Sinners. The newly crowned BAFTA stars looked every inch the double act as they embraced the celebratory spirit, posing up a storm and basking in their well-deserved triumphs.

Inside the event, Irish star Jessie was seen rubbing shoulders with Jamie Winstone, who stunned in a silky red gown, and Russell Tovey. Elsewhere, Game of Thrones legend Robert Aramayo was all smiles while celebrating his double-win, having bagged two nods including Best Actor and Rising Star for his performance in I Swear.

One Battle After Another Dominates the Ceremony

One Battle After Another emerged as the big winner at the 2026 British Academy Film Awards on Sunday night, scooping six gongs during the ceremony at London's Royal Festival Hall. The Paul Thomas Anderson hit had already received a record 14 nominations and came out on top by winning Best Film, Best Director, Adapted Screenplay, Supporting Actor, Cinematography, and Editing.

While Jessie Buckley won the Best Actress honour for her role in Hamnet, having been the favourite to do so, the night wasn't without surprises. Timothée Chalamet missed out on Best Actor to home-grown favourite Robert Aramayo, despite being tipped as a favourite for his role in Marty Supreme.

Emotional Acceptance Speeches and Family Celebrations

Upon learning of his son's honour, Robert Aramayo's father jumped to his feet, shouting and jumping up and down when his name was read. From the stage, Aramayo said, "I absolutely can't believe this. I can't believe I'm looking at people like you never mind that I'm stood here." He was happily joined by his supportive family, including his mother Lisa, father Michael, and sister Laura.

Jessie Buckley, who is already tipped as a favourite to win the Oscar for Best Actress, used her acceptance speech to thank her fellow nominees. She said, "This is really such an incredible honour. As a little girl I never thought in a million years I would be allowed to make a film but here I am." She added, "I am in awe of all your incredible performances thank you."

Notable Wins and Losses

With 28 gongs awarded on Sunday night, the main winners were One Battle After Another with six prizes. Sinners, Frankenstein, and I Swear followed with three each, while Hamnet won two gongs. The biggest loser of the evening was the highly acclaimed ping pong drama Marty Supreme, which went into the night with 11 nominations but came away completely empty-handed.

Director and producer Paul Thomas Anderson said, "Thank you for rewarding our film in the way that you have, it's just a tremendous honour." He added that he planned to find a "bar somewhere to go celebrate." Producer Sarah Murphy also expressed gratitude, saying, "We wish more than anything that our producing partner Adam Somner could be here to accept this on behalf of us on his home turf."

The EE BAFTA Film Awards 2026 showcased a mix of expected victories and surprising upsets, with winners celebrating their achievements in style at the exclusive after-party.
