David Beckham Sells Miami Penthouse Amid Ongoing Family Rift
David Beckham has taken a significant step in the ongoing family feud with his eldest son, Brooklyn, by selling his luxurious Miami penthouse. The former football legend reportedly made a substantial profit of close to £3.5 million on the property, which he purchased just six years ago.
Luxury Property Details and Sale
The penthouse, located on the 59th floor of the One Thousand Museum building in Miami, was acquired by Beckham in 2020 through his London-based company, Beckham Brand Limited, for just over £17 million. The building, designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid, stands at 62 storeys and is one of the tallest structures in the city.
The expansive residence covered 9,200 square feet and featured five bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and a large balcony. Residents of the deluxe block enjoyed access to premium amenities, including a double-level gym and spa, an infinity-edge pool, a hair and beauty complex, a sky lounge, an aquatic centre, 24-hour security, and a private cinema.
According to reports from The New York Post, Beckham was the second person to sell a property in one of Zaha Hadid's rare residential towers within a week. The family frequently used the penthouse as a base, particularly during the launch of Inter Miami FC in 2018, and it served as a regular retreat for the entire Beckham clan.
Family Feud Escalates
The sale comes amid a deepening rift between David Beckham and his son Brooklyn, who has publicly cut ties with his parents. Brooklyn, 26, released an explosive statement revealing he no longer wishes to have any connection to his family, citing issues over control of his life and their behaviour towards his wife, Nicola, especially during their wedding in 2022.
In a further escalation, Brooklyn has blocked his family on social media and covered up a tattoo tribute to his father. The feud has drawn widespread media attention, with months of speculation and no-shows by Brooklyn at family events.
Marc Anthony Breaks Silence
Close family friend and singer Marc Anthony has now spoken out about the situation. Anthony, 57, who is the godfather to Cruz Beckham and performed at Brooklyn and Nicola's wedding, described the Beckhams as a "wonderful, wonderful family" in an interview with Hollywood Reporter.
However, he declined to comment further on the feud, stating, "I have nothing to say about what’s happening with the family. I’ve known them since before the kids were born. I’m really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there. It’s extremely unfortunate how it’s playing out."
Sources claim that Anthony's comment at the wedding, where he called Victoria Beckham "the most beautiful woman in the room," allegedly caused Nicola to run out in tears, an incident Brooklyn referenced in his social media takedown of his parents.
The sale of the Miami penthouse marks a tangible step in the Beckham family's ongoing dynamics, as they navigate this highly publicised personal conflict.
