Helen Skelton's Embarrassing Moment on BBC Morning Live

BBC Morning Live presenter Helen Skelton found herself in an awkward and humorous situation during Tuesday's broadcast, as co-host Gethin Jones playfully teased her about a past dance routine, leaving her visibly red-faced and seeking refuge behind the studio set.

Strictly Fitness Segment Sparks the Banter

The incident unfolded during the Strictly Fitness segment, hosted by guest Greg Rutherford. Greg, 39, decided to feature one of Helen's dance routines from her time on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022, where she was partnered with professional dancer Gorka Marquez. Specifically, they used the Couple's Choice routine to Mein Herr from Cabaret, which played in the studio.

Greg joked, "A certain someone might recognise this one! I don't think you're going to mess this one up, Helen", to which Helen responded by asking about the moves. Greg explained they would be doing the march and arm raises from her iconic routine, prompting Helen to hide her face in her hands in embarrassment.

Gethin Jones Adds to the Teasing

Co-host Gethin Jones then joined in on the fun, teasing Helen by saying, "She loves watching it back!" He further mocked her by demonstrating the dance move and quipping, "Also, that's how she walks into a coffee shop... I'll have a flat white coffee!" This caused Helen to duck under the studio desk, squealing "Stop!" as Gethin laughed and said, "Come back, all is forgiven! It was brilliant!"

Helen attempted to move on, insisting, "Those shorts should stay in the past! Right, let's talk about something else...", but the teasing did not end there.

Persistent Humour Throughout the Show

Later in the episode, Gethin decided to tease Helen once again, performing the dance routine in the studio and saying, "Hi, I'm Helen, nice to meet you! This is how I walk everywhere or is it just dancing Greg?" Greg added to the hilarity by mentioning they had found the shorts from the routine, promising it would be special to watch Helen repeat it.

Helen was left red-faced once more, especially when the routine played again, leading her to turn her chair away from the camera. Greg remarked, "Helen, you can't hide from this!", to which she quipped, "Can I do the rest of the show like this please!"

The light-hearted banter highlighted the playful dynamic among the hosts, with Helen's reactions adding to the entertainment value of the show. BBC Morning Live airs Monday to Friday at 9:30am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, continuing to deliver engaging content for viewers.
