Khloé Kardashian Unveils Khloud Protein Chips in Glamorous Casino-Themed Commercial
Reality television star and entrepreneur Khloé Kardashian made a dramatic entrance in a plunging red sequin dress to launch her latest business venture, Khloud Protein Chips. The 41-year-old founder starred in a casino-themed commercial that premiered on Thursday, showcasing her new snack line with Hollywood flair.
A High-Stakes Launch with Style
In the advertisement, Kardashian sported a towering bouffant hairstyle and layered gold jewelry while playing poker at a casino table. Instead of traditional casino chips, she used her Khloud Protein Chips during the game. Her makeup featured full contouring as she took a seductive bite of one chip, though the commercial never shows her actually swallowing it.
The Calabasas socialite also shared behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot, revealing her glam squad fussing over her appearance. Kardashian admitted that her look, complete with a white fur stole, was "a lot" to pull off.
Product Details and Availability
The new snack comes in three distinct flavors: sweet heat, nacho, and buffalo. These protein-packed tortilla chips will first become available at Target.com and Target stores next Wednesday before expanding to KhloudFoods.com on April 21.
The secret ingredient powering these chips is peas, protein-rich legumes that are baked directly into each tortilla chip. Every serving contains 7 grams of protein and 170 calories, offering a healthier snacking alternative.
Personal Protein Journey
Kardashian, who boasts 367.9 million social media followers, originally launched her first product, Khloud Protein Popcorn, because as someone who doesn't eat meat, she needed protein alternatives. "I don't eat meat, so I would find ways to consume protein and they might not be the most fun ways," Kardashian told People magazine on Thursday.
She expressed frustration with existing protein snacks, describing them as "very 'bro-y'" options that didn't taste good. This inspired her to create more appealing protein alternatives for people with similar dietary needs.
Weight Loss and Wellness Philosophy
Over the past decade, the Good American co-founder has undergone a noticeable physical transformation. "I started my weight loss journey many years ago and working out it's like, 'Okay, cool, I've tackled this.' But I never understood really the food element as well," she explained.
Kardashian emphasized the importance of nutrition alongside exercise, noting that "you can work out for hours and hours, five days a week, but you're not gonna develop muscle mass if you're not consuming the right amount of food or the proper type of food."
Addressing Speculation About Weight Loss Methods
While many have accused Kardashian of using trendy GLP-1 agonist drugs like Ozempic to shed approximately 60 pounds, she has consistently defended her fitness regimen. In 2023, she responded to an Instagram commenter: "Let's not discredit my years of working out. I get up five days a week at 6am to train. Please stop with your assumptions."
In a 2024 interview with Bustle, the Khloé in Wonder Land podcaster took a more philosophical approach: "Even if people get surgery or [get on] the Ozempic craze, I'm like, 'Who cares!' As long as people feel good about themselves, who am I to judge? I think it's ridiculous, the judgment on that. I'm just mad [Ozempic] wasn't around 10 years ago."
Family Life and Product Testing
On April 12, Kardashian and her ex-fiancé Tristan Thompson will celebrate the eighth birthday of their daughter True. The couple also parents three-year-old son Tatum. Kardashian revealed their family's flavor preferences: "My favorite's the sweet heat, True's is the nacho and Tatum's is the buffalo."
The Fabletics collaborator uses her children and nieces and nephews as taste testers, calling them "the best focus group" because "they are the most honest individuals and will tell you if something — they will use the word 'sucks.'"
Relationship History and Future Plans
Kardashian and Thompson, despite ending their on-and-off five-year relationship in 2021, reportedly still have two frozen embryos (a boy and a girl) stored. Their relationship history includes Thompson's infidelity scandals, including secretly fathering a son with another woman while dating Kardashian.
Meanwhile, the Kardashian-Jenner family continues producing and filming the eighth season of their Hulu reality series The Kardashians, maintaining their status as entertainment industry powerhouses while expanding their business empires.
