Turning Point USA Commits to Another Rival Super Bowl Halftime Show

Turning Point USA, the conservative nonprofit organization founded by Charlie Kirk, has confirmed it will host another alternative Super Bowl halftime show next year. This announcement follows what the group describes as a successful inaugural event held in protest of Bad Bunny's official halftime performance during Super Bowl Sunday.

Viewership Numbers Show Significant Disparity

As of Monday afternoon, before official viewing and streaming figures were available, Turning Point's halftime YouTube video had accumulated approximately 20 million views. In contrast, the NFL's official Super Bowl halftime show featuring Bad Bunny had reached 26 million views on the same platform during the same timeframe.

Andrew Kolvet, spokesperson for Turning Point USA, told Fox News that the alternative halftime show was so successful that "We are going to commit to doing this again, next year." Kolvet claimed that as of Sunday evening, the event had "20 million viewers" across social media platforms alone and hypothesized the number could reach as many as 50 million within the day.

Conservative Alternative Features Known Artists

Turning Point's "All-American" concert featured known conservative musicians such as Kid Rock and aired simultaneously with the NFL's halftime show. The event was organized specifically for people who objected to Bad Bunny's performance, which included songs performed in Spanish.

While The Athletic reported that Turning Point's stream had around 6.1 million viewers during its live broadcast, Kolvet maintained that the organization's online viewership numbers are expected to rise in the coming days as more people watch the stream on YouTube and other platforms.

Official Super Bowl Numbers Expected to Dwarf Alternative

Exact numbers for the Super Bowl's official halftime show are not yet available, but expectations point toward viewership exceeding 100 million. According to Nielsen Holdings, the world's leading audience metric company, the last four Super Bowls have each garnered viewership of more than 100 million.

Official viewership numbers are expected to be publicly available Tuesday afternoon via NBC. Last year's Super Bowl was the most-watched game in history, with more than 127 million views, and this year's viewership could potentially surpass that of the 2025 Super Bowl, given Bad Bunny's status as the most-streamed artist globally.

Political Context and Reactions

The decision to have Bad Bunny perform at the halftime show has been interpreted by some as a political move to stand with immigrants during a chaotic and tense time. Many conservatives, including former President Donald Trump, have criticized the NFL for choosing Bad Bunny because he performs in Spanish—the second most commonly spoken language in the United States.

Kolvet insisted that Turning Point's "All-America" alternative halftime show was created to promote Kirk's "ideals" about what the Super Bowl halftime show should represent. "[Kirk] wanted it to lift up the best ideals of our country as opposed to pulling us down," he explained.

In contrast, Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show promoted unity in the Americas with phrases such as "Together, we are America" and "The only thing that's more powerful than hate is love" displayed during his performance.

Future Plans and Excitement

Kolvet expressed considerable excitement about planning next year's event, claiming it was "for the country." He stated, "If you give us a year to plan this thing. I'm really excited to see what we can pull off. But we gotta do it for the country."

Despite the significant viewership gap between the official Super Bowl halftime show and Turning Point's alternative, the conservative organization remains committed to providing what they describe as an ideologically aligned entertainment option during one of America's most-watched television events.
