Fan favourite America's Next Top Model star Shandi Sullivan is leading a completely different life over two decades after her reality television debut. The former contestant, who appeared on Cycle 2 of the hit programme, has transitioned from the modelling world to new ventures far removed from the catwalk.
From Walgreens to the Runway and Beyond
Before her stint on America's Next Top Model, Shandi Sullivan was working at the retail store Walgreens. She joined the second season of ANTM, a cult-favourite show where aspiring models competed for the 'Top Model' title and a chance to break into the industry. With supermodel Tyra Banks heading the judging panel, the series quickly became a staple for reality TV enthusiasts.
However, the show has faced criticism in recent years, with viewers alleging that contestants were not always treated with proper care. This backdrop sets the stage for a new Netflix documentary exploring the hidden truths behind the programme.
Shandi's Journey on ANTM
Shandi finished in third place during her season, losing to runner-up Mercedes Scelba-Shorte and winner Yoanna House. Like many contestants, she hoped the show would launch her modelling career, but that expectation did not materialise.
"After Top Model, we thought one of us was going to be with a top modelling agency, and that was going to be our new career," she explained in the documentary. "But no. I was still working at Walgreens."
Life After Modelling: Podcasts and Jewellery Business
As of 2026, Shandi Sullivan has left modelling behind, similar to fellow ANTM alum Adrianne Curry. She now co-hosts a horror film podcast called Urn Fulla Popcorn alongside comedian Timmy Williams. Additionally, she owns a Brooklyn-based jewellery business named Dream Meow Corner.
This enterprise sells a variety of items, including pet portraits, earrings, and candle holders. While it is unclear if the shop remains open, Shandi promoted it on her personal Instagram page as recently as December 2023.
Reflecting on the Past in Netflix Documentary
Shandi is among the former contestants featured in the new three-part Netflix documentary, Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, which is currently streaming. In the series, she openly discusses her experiences on the show, including addressing the 'cheating scandal' she was involved in during her season.
The Kansas native sheds light on what was happening behind the scenes at that time, offering insights into the reality TV phenomenon. The documentary aims to uncover the untold stories and challenges faced by participants, providing a deeper look into the making of the iconic series.
