Clive Owen Emotional at 70th Birthday in New Series

Clive Owen, the beloved farmer from Our Yorkshire Farm, was visibly moved during the opening episode of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales as he celebrated a significant milestone. The 70-year-old delivered a heartfelt speech to his gathered family and friends, confessing his disbelief at reaching the age.

A Heartfelt Birthday Speech

Turning to a friend, Clive enquired: 'How far off 70 are you then?' His friend responded with a lighthearted quip: 'I've got two years to catch you up, I am but a boy.' Chuckling, Clive admitted: 'I can't do anything about it, I am 70 whether I like it or not, and I don't like it.'

Addressing the crowd, the farmer reflected: 'Well, here I am for my 70th birthday. I can't believe that I have got to 70. It just seems five minutes since I was on my push bike, and you know, life just goes so fast, doesn't it?'

Memories and Reflections

Clive continued: 'I've been coming down here for a fair old while, we always came on a Sunday night. There were always a few characters, a few locals who would sit around that fire. Sadly, they are all gone now, but I am still here, and so there you go.'

His son Reuben then interjected warmly: 'Thanks, Dad, for keeping us three on the straight and narrow.' Shaking hands with each of his boys, Clive responded: 'It has been great fun, top men. Thank you all for coming and cheers.'

The Future of Ravenseat Farm

This wasn't the first time Clive had pondered his advancing years and the future of Ravenseat Farm. Earlier this year, during Our Farm Next Door, the father of nine spoke candidly about handing over the reins to his sons. 'It is a young fellas' game,' Clive admitted to the camera. 'I am almost 70 now, so I have got to think about what comes next. It is something the family are discussing at the moment to see where the future lies for everyone.' With a warm laugh, he concluded: 'It is nice for me to pass on my shears.'
