Danielle Spencer Sets Record Straight on Russell Crowe Marriage Split
Danielle Spencer Debunks Russell Crowe Marriage Breakup Myth

Danielle Spencer has finally addressed a persistent rumor regarding the end of her marriage to Russell Crowe. The couple tied the knot in 2003, separated in 2012, and officially divorced in 2018. For years, speculation suggested that Crowe's demanding Hollywood career was the primary cause of their split. However, Spencer, 56, has now firmly dismissed this narrative.

Setting the Record Straight

In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, the singer clarified: 'There's been this narrative that Russell's escalating career and him being away contributed to the break-up of our marriage, but that's not true for me. I don't need to be with my partner 24 hours a day to feel safe or secure.' She emphasized that she never felt neglected by his professional commitments.

Praising Russell Crowe as a Father

Spencer spoke highly of the 62-year-old actor, describing him as a wonderful father to their two sons, Charlie (22) and Tennyson (19). 'Russell's most admirable trait is loyalty. He's also a deep thinker. I am an actor as well, so I totally understood him being away on film sets,' she explained. When the children were younger, she often traveled with Crowe, and during periods apart, 'We'd visit Russell, or he'd call me a hundred times a day.'

A Glamorous Appearance

Spencer made a striking appearance at the APRA Music Awards in Sydney on Wednesday, donning a lace two-piece ensemble that showcased her fit figure. The black outfit, complete with flared trousers, sunglasses, and layered gold chains, turned heads.

Reflecting on the Divorce

Earlier, Spencer had opened up about the guilt she felt after the divorce. On the Stellar podcast Something To Talk About, she confessed: 'It's really sad breaking up with somebody that you've known for so long, that you've had children with. Me kind of breaking up the family – and it felt very much like I was driving that – so I had to deal with my almost sense of guilt.' She added that the decision was made for valid reasons and was necessary.

Co-Parenting Journey

Despite the challenges, Spencer and Crowe now share a strong friendship while co-parenting. She admitted that the post-divorce period had its difficulties: 'There were days and moments where obviously things were not fine, were tense, we were unhappy and it's sad.' Crowe has also spoken positively about their relationship, telling The Kyle and Jackie O Show that they remain on good terms, much to the delight of their children.
