Spiritual Guru's Private Friendship with Disgraced Financier Exposed

While publicly cultivating an image of enlightened detachment and higher consciousness, self-help mogul Deepak Chopra privately maintained a close friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, according to newly released Justice Department files reviewed by the Daily Mail.

Fast Friendship Formed After Epstein's Conviction

The pair struck up their relationship in 2016, eight years after Epstein's 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor and three years before his 2019 jail cell death. Their conversations ranged from metaphysics and consciousness to chasing young women and girls, often intermingling these topics in disturbing ways.

"God is a construct. Cute girls are real," Chopra wrote to the convicted sex offender in one March 2017 exchange, despite being married to his wife Rita for 56 years. In another message about a Vatican speaking engagement with the Pope, Chopra wisecracked: "Only sinners are invited."

Airport Confrontation and Evasive Responses

Chopra made his first public appearance since the files' release last week at Los Angeles International Airport, where he dodged questions about his Epstein relationship. When confronted about whether he regretted the friendship, Chopra repeatedly responded "You decide" and told questioners to "do your own work and find out." As the exchange concluded, he cryptically warned: "It will all come to light."

Frequent Visits and Disturbing Exchanges

Dozens of messages reveal Chopra frequently visited Epstein's Manhattan mansion and Palm Beach home, sometimes sleeping over or stopping by for brief visits even when Epstein wasn't present. Their correspondence included numerous eyebrow-raising exchanges about women and girls.

In one text string, Chopra thanked Epstein for "a v lovely experience," to which Epstein responded about meeting someone in the street two weeks earlier. "Amazing! How did you pick her up?" Chopra asked. When Epstein commented about watching Chopra "zero in on your prey," Chopra replied: "I not a predator. Just a lover."

International Invitations and Name-Dropping

Epstein invited Chopra to his New Mexico ranch, Paris apartment, and private island off St. Thomas, while Chopra asked Epstein to attend his speaking events in New York, California, and Switzerland. Chopra even encouraged Epstein to "bring your girls" to Israel and suggested he "use a fake name."

Within two months of meeting, Epstein referred to Chopra as "one of the family" and introduced him to powerful figures including former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, billionaire banker Baroness Ariane de Rothschild, and director Woody Allen. Epstein also ordered monogrammed shirts for Chopra, a habit he maintained when cultivating new friendships.

Financial Connections and Shared Interests

Epstein donated at least $50,000 to Chopra's nonprofit organization, and the pair discussed creating an app and board game together. Despite Epstein privately mocking Chopra's spiritual work as "woo woo," their friendship flourished through shared interests in name-dropping and discussions about attractive women.

Chopra mentioned that Ivanka Trump attended one of his 2016 workshops, noting he had noticed "a pretty girl in the room" before learning her identity. From a Middle East trip, he wrote to Epstein about "many beautiful Saudi girls," and both men admired former Saudi "Princess Ameerah" Al-Taweel, whom Chopra described as "v sweet - like your girls."

Metaphysical Banter and Serious Concerns

The pair engaged in frequent philosophical conversations that often bordered on the absurd. In one exchange about consciousness, Chopra wrote: "Cells are human constructs. No such thing! Universe is human construct. No such thing. Cute girls are aware when they make noises."

Their correspondence also touched on more serious matters, with both men expressing boredom with life. Chopra shared with Epstein emails from scientists who derided him as a narcissist and celebrity nutjob, while Epstein kept Chopra updated about his public relations troubles regarding sexual assault allegations.

Limited Response and Continued Contact

In a February 4 statement on X, Chopra acknowledged "poor judgment in tone" in his Epstein emails but insisted: "I was never involved in, nor did I participate in, any criminal or exploitative conduct. Any contact I had was limited and unrelated to abusive activity."

The documents reveal Chopra appears 3,267 times in the newly released Epstein files, indicating extensive correspondence. Even as Epstein faced mounting legal troubles in early 2019, Chopra advised him to "stay silent" and meditate, suggesting they communicate via more secure WhatsApp messaging and offering to "meditate together."

Their final exchanges included Chopra wishing Epstein a happy birthday in what would be his last year alive, writing: "Happy, happy, happy birthday. On the other hand a reminder that death is stalking us."
