A former Buckingham Palace protection officer has claimed he contacted police over allegations that Prince Andrew brought women to the royal residence and prevented their names from being officially recorded in security documents. Paul Page, who served as a protection officer between 1998 and 2004, made these assertions in an interview with The Sun newspaper, stating that officers were "not allowed" to know the identities of female guests arriving to meet the disgraced Duke of York.
Security Protocol Violations Alleged
Mr Page detailed that women would arrive at Buckingham Palace multiple times per week, often after closing hours, to meet with Prince Andrew without proper security clearance. He explained that protection officers were simply informed that "a female will be coming at whatever time" and were instructed to call footmen to escort them, but were prohibited from recording or verifying the visitors' names. "It's a security procedure, because how do we even know if the woman here is the one he was expecting?" Mr Page questioned, highlighting what he described as a clear violation of standard palace security protocols.
Contrast with Other Royal Family Members
The former Metropolitan Police officer contrasted this with the procedures followed for other senior royals, noting that when Queen Elizabeth II or Prince Philip had guests after hours, security personnel would "be furnished with details" about the visitors. Mr Page suggested that officers did not question the arrangements for Prince Andrew's guests because they "didn't want to get booted off our post." He maintained that this practice occurred even when the late Queen was in residence at the palace.
Police Investigation and Epstein Connections
Mr Page revealed that he has contacted Thames Valley Police, who are currently investigating reports made about Prince Andrew. "I feel like I have information that could take the police probe forward, and I have a duty to share that," he told The Sun. These claims emerge as Prince Andrew faces mounting pressure over his association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, with emails from the Epstein Files suggesting women did visit Buckingham Palace with Epstein to meet the Duke.
Specific Visitor Details and Broader Allegations
According to Mr Page's account, women known to have arranged meetings with Prince Andrew at Buckingham Palace included a model from Russia and another from Romania. The allegations extend beyond palace visits, with Thames Valley Police also investigating claims that women visited Andrew at his former Royal Lodge home. The revelations have intensified calls for Prince Andrew to testify before members of Congress regarding his connections to Epstein.
Prince Andrew has consistently and strongly denied all accusations of wrongdoing related to his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for comment regarding these latest security breach allegations. Mr Page himself has a controversial past, having been jailed in 2009 for his involvement in a £3 million property scam, which may factor into assessments of his credibility.
