Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, has finally opened up about why her popular podcast, 'The Morning After,' has disappeared from the airwaves. In a candid Instagram story, Kelly revealed that the anxiety triggered by how her words were interpreted and twisted in headlines following each episode became overwhelming.
A Mental Break from the Microphone
Kelly shared that she would dread the night before an episode was released, worrying about what headlines might be created from her comments. 'It just felt like my name was in the headlines every week, and that is not what I wanted this podcast for,' she explained. 'So that is a big reason why I took a break. I needed a mental break.'
While she initially intended to step away temporarily, Kelly hinted that the podcast may not return at all. She admitted that last season, being able to focus solely on supporting her husband and spending time with her children without the added pressure of the show was 'really nice.'
The Love for Podcasting Lingers
Despite her hiatus, Kelly confessed that she misses the microphone. 'I really do miss it,' she said. 'I think you can do a lot of good with a podcast if you do it right. So I'm trying to figure out what that looks like and still be super enjoyable for you all. So stay tuned on that. I'm working on it.' She assured fans that once a decision is made, they will be the first to know.
'The Morning After,' co-hosted by friend Hank Winchester, covered a wide range of topics, from Kelly's gameday experiences as an NFL wife to her personal life and past. The show also featured several guests, including Matthew Stafford himself.
