Mandelson Emails Reveal 'Liberation Day' Celebration for Epstein's Jail Release

Fresh revelations about Lord Mandelson's connections with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein have surfaced following the latest document release from the notorious 'Epstein files'. The correspondence appears to show the former UK ambassador to the United States celebrating Epstein's release from prison in disturbingly casual terms.

Crude Exchanges and Celebratory Tone

One email thread from July 2009, when Mandelson served as a government minister, seemingly captures him asking Epstein how they should mark his release after serving thirteen months for soliciting prostitution with a minor. Epstein responded with a crude joke about strippers named 'Grace and Modesty', to which Mandelson replied: "From now on, grace and modesty sd (should) be discovered in London."

The emails can be definitively traced to Mandelson through his unredacted BT Internet email address in one message and his name in another. When approached for comment, he reportedly told the Daily Mail that while the messages were his, "they are his [Epstein's] observations not mine" and claimed he was suggesting Epstein "should find grace and modesty not strippers".

Further Inappropriate Banter Emerges

Additional messages from 2009 show Mandelson inquiring "How is freedom feeling?" Epstein's reply described freedom as "fresh, firm, and creamy", prompting Mandelson to respond with "Naughty boy". Most damningly, another message shows Mandelson telling Epstein upon his release: "Liberation day ! X."

These exchanges have provoked widespread disgust among political figures. SNP Westminster leader Stephen Flynn publicly denounced the correspondence, writing on social media platform X: "Sick bastards."

Manhattan Accommodation Arrangements

The document trove recently released by the US Department of Justice also includes 2012 messages that appear to show arrangements for Lord Mandelson to stay at Epstein's Manhattan townhouse. The correspondence includes warnings about media scrutiny, with Epstein's then-personal assistant Lesley Groff expressing concern: "Oh wow. Ok. I hope the news people don't find out!"

Mandelson apparently responded to the invitation with: "I want to stay. Let's go for it, and just be careful." This message was then forwarded by Epstein to Groff, who questioned: "Does that mean pete Mandelson is staying with Jeffrey at 71st street during his visit???"

Mounting Political and Legal Pressure

The latest revelations have intensified pressure on Lord Mandelson, who is currently facing a criminal investigation and has subsequently resigned from the House of Lords. The steady drip of disclosures from the Epstein files continues to expose the extent of connections between powerful figures and the disgraced financier, raising serious questions about judgment and associations at the highest levels of British public life.

As more documents become public, scrutiny of Mandelson's relationship with Epstein is likely to increase, particularly given the disturbing nature of the exchanges and their timing relative to Epstein's criminal conviction for offences involving minors.
