Elon Musk's 2013 Email Exchange with Jeffrey Epstein About Island Visit Revealed in Court Files
Newly released court documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case have revealed a series of 2013 email exchanges between the late financier and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk regarding a potential visit to Epstein's private island.
Holiday Season Invitation
The correspondence began on December 13, 2013, when Musk emailed Epstein stating, "Will be in the BVI/St. Bart's area over the holidays. Is there a good time to visit?" Epstein responded positively, telling Musk there was "always space for you" and offering to collect him personally.
Christmas Day Follow-Up
On Christmas Day, Musk sent another email indicating he could adjust his travel plans, writing, "Actually, I could fly back early on the 3rd. We will be in St Bart's. When should we head to your island on the 2nd?" This suggests Musk was seriously considering the visit and coordinating specific dates.
Last-Minute Cancellation
However, the trip never materialised. In a follow-up email sent on December 30, Musk wrote, "Bad news- Unfortunately my schedule will keep me in New York. I was really looking forward to finally spending some time together with just fun as the agenda so I am very disappointed. Hopefully we can schedule another time in the near future."
Context and Clarification
It is important to note that being mentioned in the Epstein files does not imply any wrongdoing or criminal allegations. Elon Musk has never been accused of any crime associated with Jeffrey Epstein, and these emails represent unverified correspondence that was part of a broader document release by the Deputy Attorney General's office.
The Independent has contacted representatives for Elon Musk seeking comment on these newly revealed communications. The documents form part of a larger trove of millions of pages related to the Epstein case that authorities are gradually making public.
