Zayn Malik and his family have issued a health update, requesting fans to make a 'meaningful gesture' by donating to charity instead of sending flowers, as the former One Direction star remains hospitalised with a mystery illness.
Family Statement and Request
Earlier this month, fans were concerned when Zayn pulled out of promotional events for his new album and later shared a hospital photo. In the first update since then, his cousin Sasha Malik expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and shared a statement approved by Zayn and his family, asking supporters to donate to The Palestine Project in lieu of floral tributes.
Sasha wrote on Instagram: 'We're so grateful for everyone who has reached out to send bouquets! Logistically, it just simply can't work, but we appreciate you all so much, please donate anything you'd like on Zayn's behalf to The Palestine Project!'
Florist Statement and Donation Details
A statement from florist The Hidden Bouquet, approved by the Malik family, explained that due to the high volume of requests, they can no longer accept orders. It urged fans to donate the amount they would have spent on a bouquet to the Palestine Project, with messages of support to be checked by the family.
The Palestine Project's Just Giving page aims to raise funds for Islamic Relief, providing food, clean water, shelter, and emergency medical aid to those in Palestine amid the conflict with Israel. The original target of £27,000 has been reached thanks to over 800 supporters. Many donors left messages for Zayn, including: 'Prayers for everyone, in honour of Zayn' and 'I am giving in honor of ZAYN and his family much love and support, prayers always!! Hope Zayn is feeling much better!!'
Upcoming Tour and Health Status
Fans hope Zayn will recover in time for his upcoming world tour, his biggest solo tour yet, scheduled to begin in May 2026 in Manchester, with dates across the UK, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, and more, ending in Miami in November. Details of his illness remain scarce, but a source told PEOPLE that his treatment involves working with the 'number one cardiologist in the world.'
