Racing expert Newsboy has delivered his selections for the final race meetings of 2025, pinpointing standout prospects at Lingfield, Warwick, and Uttoxeter on New Year's Eve.
Lord Harcourt Tipped for Lingfield Repeat
The spotlight at Lingfield Park falls on Lord Harcourt in the 1.00pm Nursery Handicap. Newsboy makes the Ed Walker-trained gelding his best bet of the day, anticipating a follow-up victory at the Surrey track.
The son of Havana Grey secured a career-best win over the same course and distance just 23 days ago, having been gelded prior to the run. He showed grit to beat Akabusi by a head that day, and the form has received a boost with the third-placed horse winning on Boxing Day.
Despite being handed a 4lb rise in the weights, Newsboy believes Lord Harcourt remains well-handicapped and is the one to beat in the six-furlong contest.
Kalhandrion to Shine Over Fences at Uttoxeter
At Uttoxeter, the QuinnBet Novices’ Handicap Chase (2.43pm) is the target for Newsboy's next best selection, Kalhandrion.
The five-year-old has shown markedly improved form since switching to chasing, having failed to win in seven hurdle races last season. He made a winning seasonal debut over the larger obstacles at Huntingdon last month, taking the lead after the last fence to score by two and three-quarter lengths.
Newsboy suggests the 2m4f trip looks ideal and, even with a 6lb higher mark, Kalhandrion has the race at his mercy.
