Adam Thomas Breaks Down in Tears Over Fatherhood Guilt on Podcast

Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas broke down in floods of tears during a recent episode of his podcast, At Home With The Thomas Bros, as he opened up about his belief that he is "not a great dad" and struggles with overwhelming guilt about his seemingly perfect life.

Emotional Confession on Family Podcast

The father of two, who shares the podcast with his brothers Scott and Ryan, became visibly emotional while discussing his low self-belief and feelings of inadequacy. Thomas admitted that he often feels "guilty" because of how fortunate his life appears, questioning why he deserves his beautiful wife Caroline Daly and their "perfect family."

"There's days where I walk down the stairs in this house and I think, 'f***ing hell, I'm so grateful, I'm so lucky', and I feel guilty because of it," Thomas confessed through tears. "I'm like, why do I deserve this? Why do I deserve a beautiful wife? Why do I deserve this perfect family?"

Struggle with Self-Confidence

Despite his successful acting career and happy family life with wife Caroline (married since 2017) and their two children - 11-year-old son Teddy and 7-year-old daughter Elsie - Thomas revealed he is still "chasing" self-confidence. The actor, who will soon appear on I'm A Celebrity All Stars, expressed persistent doubts about his abilities and worth.

"I just doubt myself so much," Thomas said. "And just the over procrastinating, like, I'm no good at this, I'm no good at that, I'm not a good friend, I'm not a good husband, sometimes I'm not a great dad."

He continued: "And, you know, not necessarily wanting to further my career. I'm everyone else's best friend and I will always big everyone up and tell them how great they are and I just don't do that for myself."

Fan Support and Upcoming Television Appearance

A snippet of the emotional podcast episode was shared on the Thomas brothers' official TikTok page, where fans immediately flooded the comments with messages of support and encouragement for the vulnerable actor.

  • One fan wrote: "And this is why I have so much respect and love for this man."
  • Another commented: "Seeing Adam cry is awful. He deserves everything he has!"
  • A third supporter added: "Adam you deserve the world! You have worked hard for everything you have!"

Thomas will soon return to television screens in the second series of I'm A Celebrity All Stars, where he will face the South African jungle and a series of trials and challenges. The actor, who earned the nickname Mr Bushtucker Trial during his 2016 appearance for taking on the most challenges, will compete against several other celebrities including former winners Harry Redknapp and Scarlett Moffatt, along with soap legend Beverley Callard, Gemma Collins, Jimmy Bullard, Seann Walsh, David Haye, Sir Mo Farah, Ashley Roberts, Sinitta and Craig Charles.

The emotional podcast revelation highlights the ongoing mental health struggles that can affect individuals regardless of their external success or family circumstances, with Thomas's candid confession resonating deeply with fans who appreciate his honesty about the pressures of modern fatherhood and self-expectation.
