Coleen Rooney has been seen in public for the first time since her husband, football legend Wayne Rooney, made a surprising revelation about his health. The 39-year-old was photographed leaving the upmarket Bank MediSpa in Hale, Cheshire, on Monday, treating herself to a pampering session.
Wayne Rooney's Shocking Health Admission
Just days before Coleen's outing, Wayne Rooney, 40, publicly disclosed that he is deaf in his left ear. The former England captain made the announcement while filming a 'Behind the Scenes' segment for the BBC's Match of the Day. He asked the crew to place his earpiece in his right ear, explaining his auditory issue affects his work as a pundit.
"Can I do it in this ear?" he said, pointing to his stronger side. "The problem is I'm deaf in my left ear. So when it's too loud I struggle to hear what Kelly Cates or whoever is saying." The football manager had never spoken about his deafness before, and the exact cause remains unclear, though he did suffer a serious injury to the same ear in 2009, requiring 45 stitches after a fall on a yacht.
Coleen's Casual Outing Post-Revelation
Following the news, Coleen maintained a low-key appearance. The mother-of-four, who shares sons Kai, 16, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six, with Wayne, opted for a comfortable off-duty look. She wore a beige quarter-zip jumper and black leggings, completed with trainers and carrying a takeaway Costa Coffee cup.
Her visit to the aesthetics clinic came after the couple and their children returned from their lavish annual holiday in Barbados earlier this month. The Rooneys own a £5million five-bedroom villa on the island, which features an infinity pool and can sleep 14 guests.
Wayne's New Career in Broadcasting
Wayne Rooney's transition from football management to broadcasting appears to be in full swing. After managerial spells at clubs including Derby County and Birmingham City, he joined the Match of the Day team last summer. He is believed to have signed a lucrative contract worth £800,000 per year with the BBC and also hosts a podcast for the corporation.
In a June interview with talkSPORT, he hinted that media work was his immediate focus, stating: "Obviously just doing some TV work at the minute, so that's what I'm doing. I'm enjoying it. So, that's where I'll be." His candid admission about his hearing has shed new light on the challenges he faces in his new role.
