Finn Wolfhard's Life: From Stranger Things Heartbreak to Living at Home
Finn Wolfhard on Stranger Things, Dating, and Living at Home

Finn Wolfhard, the actor who shot to global fame at just 12 years old playing Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things, has offered fans a rare glimpse into his personal world. As the Netflix phenomenon concluded with its fifth season in January 2026, Wolfhard reflected on the show's profound impact, his current priorities, and his plans for the future.

Life After Hawkins: Career Focus and Personal Choices

Now 23, Wolfhard remains firmly in the spotlight, recently co-hosting the iconic Saturday Night Live on NBC alongside rapper ASAP Rocky and comedian Sarah Sherman. Despite his high profile, he is consciously single, telling Variety that his relentless work schedule makes a committed partnership impractical. "The rate that I’m traveling all the time and working and stuff, I just feel like it’s not the time to do that," he explained, describing the choice as somewhat deliberate.

Interestingly, despite an estimated net worth of $4 million, Wolfhard has chosen to move back in with his family. After living alone for periods, including while filming the final season of Stranger Things in Atlanta, he told People magazine in 2025 that having a home base with his parents is a comfort. "I rarely get to see my family," he said. "If I'm going to be away for most of the year working, then I might as well have a place [to come back to] with my parents."

A Heartfelt Goodbye to Stranger Things

The release of the behind-the-scenes documentary, One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5, revealed the emotional weight of the series' end for its cast. In a poignant speech to the crew, Wolfhard shared a heartbreaking admission about his life before the show. "I started this show when I was 12 with these guys," he began. "It’s going to sound sad but I feel like I really didn’t feel like I had a lot of friends as a kid. And when I talked to the Duffer Brothers for the first time, it felt like I had friends. And now I have so many more friends."

What's Next for the Star?

Wolfhard is not resting on his laurels. He has already begun filming his next project, Crash Land, a comedy about small-town stuntmen. In the film, he will star opposite Jonathan Koensgen from Reacher and Gabriel LaBelle from The Fabelmans.

Furthermore, he is collaborating with his older brother, Nick Wolfhard, on the upcoming animated superhero series New-Gen, where he will lend his voice. The cast for this project includes notable names like Luke Wilson, Anya Chalotra, and Lena Headey, signalling an exciting new chapter in his diverse career.
