Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has made a direct appeal to online trolls, urging them to cease sending her messages about her ex-partner, footballer Scott Sinclair. The plea comes amidst a reported bitter dispute over the future of the family home.
A Public Plea Amid Private Conflict
The 35-year-old mother of three took to social media on January 18, 2026, to address followers who have been persistently messaging her with details about Sinclair's life. In a video filmed from her car, where she wore a pink fluffy cardigan, Flanagan stated her position clearly.
"I’ve been getting messages as well, quite a lot of DMs about the whereabouts of the father of my kids," she said. "Please, I really don’t care. No one needs to DM me and tell me his personal business. I’m spared of that now. You really don’t need to DM me anything, please I’d rather not."
The actress, best known for playing Rosie Webster on the ITV soap, ended the clip with a disbelieving laugh, repeating "please don’t… wow."
The Root of the Feud: A Home in His Name
This public request follows headlines revealing an escalating private conflict between the former couple. Reports indicate that Sinclair, the 36-year-old former Swansea City and Celtic winger, is forcing Flanagan to leave the family home, which is legally in his name.
Sources suggest Sinclair is keen for Flanagan to downsize to a smaller property. However, it is claimed the actress is resisting a quiet exit. The pair, who share three children—Matilda, 10, Delilah, seven, and son Charlie, four—are reportedly no longer on speaking terms.
All communication is now said to be conducted through their relatives, highlighting the complete breakdown in their relationship. This follows previous tension, including Flanagan criticising Sinclair in December for missing their son's nativity play while he was on holiday.
Expert Warns of a 'New Normal' in Conflict
Psychotherapy experts have warned that the situation could deteriorate further if not addressed. Marygrace Anderson, a psychotherapist and founder of MG Hypnosis, told The Mirror that the current dynamic risks becoming entrenched.
"The fact that communication appears to have broken down to the point where everything is going through Helen’s parents suggests just how strained things have become," Anderson explained.
She added, "The concern psychologically is that if this dynamic continues, it risks becoming increasingly the new normal. The current conflict around the house is likely about far more than the property itself."
Anderson elaborated that for Flanagan, the home may represent stability and continuity for their young children, while for Sinclair, it may be seen as a financial necessity to sell to fund the next chapter of his life, leaving both parties feeling "stuck and unheard."
With the feud showing no signs of abating and now spilling over into Flanagan's direct interactions with the public, the actress's simple request—"please stop"—underscores the personal toll the very public separation is taking.
