Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan is at the centre of a bitter property dispute with her ex-fiancé, footballer Scott Sinclair, who is reportedly forcing her and their three children to leave their lavish family home.
A Lavish Home at the Heart of the Dispute
The actress, best known for playing Rosie Webster on the ITV soap, currently resides in a six-bedroom property near Bolton. The home, which is in Sinclair's name, was put on the market last year for £1.5 million before being reduced to £995,000. Despite the couple splitting in 2022 after 13 years together, Sinclair has been funding the house and all associated bills.
Sources now claim the 36-year-old former Bristol Rovers player is keen for Flanagan, 35, to downsize. "Scott pays for the house and all the bills, and he's decided a six-bedroom place is way too big for Helen on her own with the kids," an insider revealed. He has reportedly even offered to buy her a new four-bedroom home in her name, but wants to stop the maintenance payments in return.
Flanagan Digs Her Heels In Over Move
Helen Flanagan is said to be strongly resisting the move. She is a fan of the area, does not want to disrupt her children's education, and values being close to her parents, who live nearby. "Helen doesn't want to move and is digging her heels in," the source told The Sun. "She loves the place, the kids are settled at the local school, and her mum and dad live around the corner."
Further reports suggest Flanagan believes she added value to the property and that Sinclair's motive to sell is to "take the money out," with sources close to her claiming he is "not being reasonable."
A Relationship Breakdown and Public Spats
The property feud is the latest low in a relationship that has completely broken down. The ex-couple, who share children Matilda, ten, Delilah, seven, and Charlie, four, are reportedly no longer on speaking terms, with all communication going through relatives.
Tensions spilled over publicly during the Christmas period when Flanagan slammed Sinclair on social media for missing their son's nativity play to attend the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. She fumed online: "You really are a piece of sh*t. How dare you not turn up to Charlie's nativity."
As she looks to the future, Flanagan is said to be ready to move on and find love again. "She loves being with someone and wants to meet a new partner that she can really trust and depend on," a source said, emphasising that any future partner must "adore her three kids too, because they are her top priority."
The Mirror has approached representatives for both Scott Sinclair and Helen Flanagan for comment.
