Jacqueline Jossa's Heartbreaking 'Doormat' Admission Amid Marriage Turmoil
Jacqueline Jossa has made a poignant and heartbreaking confession about feeling like a 'doormat' during a particularly turbulent period in her marriage to Dan Osborne. This revelation comes as the couple, who have been together for 13 years and married for nine, are said to have permanently ended their relationship.
Reported Permanent Split After Years of Troubles
The EastEnders actress, 33, and her former The Only Way Is Essex star husband, 34, have reportedly decided to make their separation permanent. A source close to the couple claimed to The Sun that after spending time apart this year, they have concluded their marriage is over for good. The insider stated, "Everyone knows they've had their troubles, but after spending some time apart this year, they've decided to make the split permanent."
It is believed that Jacqueline has "finally had enough" after years of enduring difficulties. Dan has reportedly moved into a home he secretly purchased in 2024 during a previous separation. The couple share two daughters, Ella, 11, and Mia, seven, and their relationship has been marked by significant highs and lows, including multiple cheating scandals.
Jossa's Emotional 'Doormat' Confession
During a challenging phase in their marriage, which coincided with Jacqueline's participation in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, she made a deeply emotional admission. While in the jungle, it was alleged that fellow contestant Myles Stephenson informed her of Dan's infidelity with his ex-girlfriend Gabby Allen, though both parties denied the claims.
Upon leaving the show, where she emerged as the winner, Jacqueline reflected on her public perception, saying, "I've always been known as Lauren from EastEnders, or a doormat, or whatever you want to call it, and coming here I have actually proved myself." Her words resonated with many, with social media users expressing sympathy and support.
- One user posted, "Jac just made my heart break."
- Another commented, "Jacqueline is making me sad!"
- A third remarked, "She's such a worthy winner."
- A fourth declared, "Jacqueline has done herself proud."
Turning Point and Public Apologies
Following her victory over runner-up Andy Whyment and third-placed Roman Kemp, Jacqueline described her jungle experience as a life-changing moment. She told hosts Ant and Dec, "It was a lot harder than I expected and I didn't expect it to be a turning point in life. I feel like I went in as one person and I have come out as a different person, growing in confidence and I have found who I am as a person a bit more."
Shortly after her appearance on the show, during which model Chloe Ayling claimed to have had a threesome with Dan and Natalie Nunn in September 2018, Dan issued a public apology to his wife. On Instagram, he wrote, "So after weeks, months, years of constant articles and rumours, some true, some very untrue. I want to publicly say, I know I have made some mistakes, we all do as humans, but I've made some that have almost cost me my family."
He added, "I have seriously learnt from these massively, so I want to publicly apologise to my beautiful wife and my family for the mistakes I've made. I am the luckiest man in the world to have what I have with Jacqueline and my three incredible children and I will spend the rest of my life being the best husband and dad that I can be." Dan concluded by expressing hope for a future filled with love and happiness, but this optimism appears to have faded with the recent reports of a permanent split.
The couple's relationship, once a subject of public fascination and support, now seems to have reached its end, with Jacqueline's 'doormat' confession highlighting the emotional toll of their years together.
