Kelly Brook's 'Weird' Encounter with Claudia Winkleman at Madonna's Wedding
Kelly Brook Recalls 'Weird' Claudia Winkleman Encounter

Kelly Brook has revealed that watching Claudia Winkleman host the hit BBC show The Traitors always triggers a vivid memory of their unexpected first meeting over two decades ago.

A Scottish Highlands Rendezvous

The surprising encounter took place in the year 2000, long before Claudia Winkleman became synonymous with the treacherous game filmed at Ardross Castle. Both women were travelling to Scotland to attend the high-profile wedding of pop icon Madonna and film director Guy Ritchie at the luxurious Skibo Castle in the Highlands.

Recalling the moment on Alan Carr's Life's A Beach podcast, the Loose Women star, now 46, described spotting Winkleman, 54, at the airport. "I remember seeing her at the airport going to Scotland and I was like, 'Are you going to the wedding as well?'" Brook said. "And she was because I think her husband is friends with them."

Claudia was attending with her husband, Kris Thykier, who reportedly knows Guy Ritchie from his early career in film publicity and production. Brook, who shares mutual friends with Ritchie, described the chance meeting as a "bit of a Scottish rendezvous."

From Wedding Guest to Traitors Host

"This is the weirdest thing, and it always reminds me [of it] when I watch The Traitors," Brook admitted, linking the past event to the present-day success of the BBC series, now in its fourth UK run. The connection has sparked her own ambitions for the franchise.

Following her stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! last December, where she cheekily confessed to stealing milk bottle treats with campmates Aitch and Angry Ginge, Brook sees herself as a perfect candidate for the celebrity version of the show. "I thought that was my audition for the next series of Traitors," she joked about her jungle confession.

She told Alan Carr: "I thought, 'I'll just drop that little grenade... and let the boys deal with that on my way out.' But I think a lot of people thought I'd shown my true colours, but it's TV, and I thought throw the cat amongst the pigeons. It's a bit of a laugh!"

The Future of Celebrity Traitors

Brook's timing is apt, as the BBC has confirmed that Celebrity Traitors will return for a second series later this year, following a hugely successful debut which was won by Alan Carr in 2025. The line-up for the new series is yet to be announced.

For now, fans can enjoy the current series of The Traitors, which continues to captivate audiences with its twists and turns, every night at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
