Pop legend Madonna was photographed touching down at New York's JFK Airport on Friday, fresh from a sun-soaked family retreat to Morocco. The 67-year-old singer was accompanied by her 29-year-old boyfriend, Akeem Morris, as they navigated the bustling terminal.
Desert Adventure with Family
The holiday, which spanned the New Year period, saw the star and her partner venture into Morocco's vast Sahara Desert. They were joined by several of Madonna's children for the adventure, including Rocco, 25, David, 20, Mercy, 19, and her 13-year-old twins, Stella and Estere.
The Material Girl shared glimpses of the trip on her social media, posting clips of the family riding horses across the iconic dunes and enjoying time at a desert camp. She was seen wrapped in a chic black puffer jacket, accessorised with an oversized Dolce & Gabbana tote, while Morris followed closely behind, managing the luggage.
Holiday Interrupted by Activism
Despite the carefree nature of the getaway, Madonna took a moment to turn her global platform towards a serious cause. From her holiday base, she posted a lengthy and impassioned statement on Instagram in solidarity with the people of Iran.
Iran has been gripped by widespread protests in recent weeks, driven by economic hardship and political unrest, with authorities responding with a severe crackdown that has reportedly led to tens of thousands of casualties.
In her post, Madonna reflected on her own freedoms while travelling. 'As I reflect on my time in Morocco over the holidays I think of all the people in IRAN who are fighting a much needed, Revolution and willing to die for what they believe in,' she wrote.
She continued, highlighting the liberties she enjoys that are denied to many in Iran: 'The freedom to travel the world. To wear what I want to wear... To speak Freely and not be silenced by punishment, torture, and possibly death.' She concluded her message with a powerful declaration: 'I stand with Iran. Let their voices be heard.. FREE IRAN!'
Stylish Celebrations in Marrakech
The Moroccan holiday also included glamorous New Year's Eve celebrations in Marrakech. Madonna marked the arrival of 2026 in a show-stopping strapless black velvet gown, complete with a dramatic cloak, while Akeem Morris looked dapper in a matching velvet suit.
The festive party, which included a lavish dinner with live music and a traditional horsemen show in the desert, was attended by her children, though her eldest daughter, Lourdes, was notably absent.
In a series of stylish snaps shared from the trip, Madonna showcased a variety of looks, from a brown faux fur coat by a campfire to western-inspired snake-print cowboy boots and fedora hats. Captioning her holiday memories, she simply stated: 'Morocco……….. I can’t let go of you!'
