Nick Viall and Natalie Joy Address Fan Criticism Over Twin Girls Gender Reveal
Nick Viall and Natalie Joy Respond to Twin Girls Gender Criticism

Former Bachelor star Nick Viall and his wife, influencer Natalie Joy, have directly addressed fan speculation that Viall was disappointed to learn their unborn twins are both girls. The couple, who already share two-year-old daughter River, revealed last week they are expecting twin daughters.

Setting the Record Straight on Social Media Reactions

During the latest episode of their Viall Files podcast, Viall acknowledged the online commentary surrounding their gender reveal video. "Two more little girls. Could not be more excited," the 45-year-old stated. "I know many people in the comments were thinking that that last balloon I wanted to be blue."

Joy, 27, provided crucial context about their social media presentation. "And I will be honest with you guys – everything on social media is fake," she revealed. "We did, in fact, act for that video because we did already know the gender. So there's no way he would've been upset with the second balloon, because he'd already known that there were two girls."

Fan Reactions and Speculation

Following the couple's gender announcement earlier this month, some followers interpreted Viall's reaction negatively. "Nick was lowkey wishing that last pop was blue," one fan commented on their reveal post. Another added sarcastically, "Nick looks… thrilled."

On their podcast, Viall expressed genuine enthusiasm about expanding their family with more daughters. He described their firstborn as "a dream and a blessing," while adding, "And listen, if I get to have a son someday, that will be great."

A Heartwarming Family Moment

The proud father shared a touching anecdote about realizing he'll soon have three daughters. "Right after we found out that we were having girls... I was coming down our stairway, and River was looking up at me," Viall recounted. "And Natalie's mom said, 'Just imagine... soon you'll have three little girls looking up at you.' And it just melted my heart. It's going to be great."

Viall explained that when they initially discovered they were having twins, they didn't know the babies' sexes or whether they would be fraternal or identical. "And we're thinking about having all the girls very close in age, you know, River being an older sister to the two younger girls," the former reality star continued. "It's a great thing. So we're very excited."

Joy's Pregnancy Journey and Wedding Plans

In her latest Instagram post, Joy shared photos of her growing baby bump with the caption that she's "living my dream life." The couple married in Savannah, Georgia in April 2024, less than three months after River's birth.

In August 2023, Joy discussed potentially changing their wedding date due to her pregnancy. Ultimately, they decided to keep their original plans. "We're like, 'We'll just have a baby at our wedding.' We'll then go on a honeymoon and have a baby," she shared on their podcast. "We'll be bringing along my mom or a nanny."

Previous Gender Teasing and Trust Tests

Viall had previously teased their baby's sex in an earlier podcast episode. "We already know the gender. We're not revealing that yet," he told listeners at the time. "We have told some friends, but I've told some friends the wrong gender."

The reality star explained this unconventional approach: "Sometimes you have to weed out the moles. So every once in a while, I'll just like, get to know who you can trust and who you don't trust." This strategy created additional layers of speculation before their official twin girls announcement.
