RHOA Star Brit Eady Files for Divorce, Waives Spousal Support
Real Housewives Star Brit Eady Files for Divorce

Brit Eady, a former star of Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta, has taken formal legal steps to end her marriage. The 37-year-old filed divorce papers in a Georgia court on Wednesday, acting on her previously stated intention to leave husband Michael Cunningham.

The Legal Details of the Split

In the court documents, Eady stated that the marriage is beyond repair, with the separation date listed as 1st December. The couple, who tied the knot in 2020, were married for five years. Notably, Eady has requested that the court not award alimony or spousal support to either party.

The filing reveals that the estranged pair's main shared asset is their home in Fulton County, Georgia. According to legal papers reviewed by outlets, Eady claimed that she and Cunningham have an agreement to sell the property and split the proceeds. Regarding vehicles, Eady will keep her own car, while Cunningham retains his.

Eady's Emotional Social Media Revelation

The reality TV personality first signalled the end of her marriage in a now-deleted Instagram post on 31st December. In the emotional statement, she wrote, 'I’m posting this on the last day of 365 to remove this facade of faking like this marriage is going to work.'

She added, 'Everybody can’t come into the next chapter. I’m done hurting and I want to be happy in my next chapter. Cheers to 2026 of putting my happiness first.' Eady was keen to control the narrative, insisting the split was not due to 'any fake made up rumours' despite the apparent bad blood.

Reflecting on Respect and Personal Growth

In an extended social media explanation, Eady delved deeper into her reasons. She described herself as a 'good woman' who is 'kind' and 'genuine', but stated that disrespect was a key trigger. 'The second I feel disrespected, everything in me shifts,' she explained. 'My peace goes out the window, my patience disappears.'

She framed the marriage as a learning experience, advising followers to 'know your triggers' and 'guard your peace.' Eady concluded, 'Stay away from the people, places, and situations that force you to become someone you've worked too hard to outgrow.'

The couple did not have any children together. Representatives for Eady have been contacted for further comment on the divorce proceedings.
