Coronation Street Star Samia Longchambon's Sun-Soaked Dubai Getaway
Coronation Street actress Samia Longchambon has delighted fans with a series of stunning beach photographs from her recent winter holiday in Dubai. The 43-year-old soap star, best known for her role as Maria Connor, showcased her fabulous physique in a black bikini while soaking up the sun on the golden shores.
Iconic Dirty Dancing Recreation with Husband Sylvain
In one particularly memorable moment, Samia and her husband Sylvain Longchambon, a 45-year-old French ice skating champion, recreated the iconic lift from the classic film Dirty Dancing. The couple, who married in 2016, were captured laughing and playing on the beach as Sylvain hoisted Samia into the air against the picturesque backdrop of the Dubai coastline.
Samia also shared breathtaking images from an evening beach walk during golden hour, striking elegant poses against the sunset. On Instagram, she expressed her gratitude for the holiday, writing: "Golden hour. Shukran aràka Dubai. It was so good to swap the UK weather for a bit of sun, why does the time on holiday seem to go twice as fast though?"
Opening Up About Raynaud's Disease
The holiday snaps come after Samia recently opened up about a serious health condition she has been managing for two decades. Late last year, the actress revealed she suffers from Raynaud's disease, a blood circulation disorder that affects her fingers.
Samia decided to share her experience after posting a photograph showing her fingers appearing white at the tips, which prompted numerous questions from concerned followers. She explained: "Seems many of you have the same thing and lots are asking for tips on how to deal with it.. I've had it about 20 years now and it's not dangerous, it's called #raynauds disease.. when I get too cold a couple of my fingers go numb and I lose feeling in them."
Practical Tips for Managing the Condition
The mother of two offered practical advice to fellow sufferers, noting that while her case is relatively mild, the condition can be painful when blood flow returns. Her management strategies include:
- Keeping as warm as possible, especially during colder months
- Wearing gloves when temperatures drop
- Using hand warmers as essential winter companions
- Consuming ginger-based foods and drinks to improve circulation
- Continuously moving fingers to restore blood flow
Samia revealed that even routine activities like shopping in supermarket freezer aisles can trigger symptoms. She is not alone among soap stars dealing with this condition - Emmerdale's Michelle Hardwick, who plays Vanessa Woodfield, also suffers from Raynaud's disease and has spoken about her experiences.
A Quarter Century on Coronation Street
Samia has portrayed Maria Connor on Coronation Street for an impressive 25 years, navigating numerous dramatic storylines throughout her tenure. Her recent health revelation adds another dimension to her public persona, showing her willingness to connect authentically with fans about personal challenges.
The actress's Dubai holiday provided a welcome respite from both the British weather and her health concerns. Last August, she celebrated her eighth wedding anniversary with Sylvain, sharing a heartfelt tribute on social media that received warm congratulations from co-stars including Jane Danson and Sally Dynevor.
Samia's combination of glamorous holiday content and honest health discussion demonstrates her multifaceted approach to public life - balancing the demands of celebrity with genuine personal connection.
