SNL writer pleads for help finding missing sister

A writer for the iconic US comedy show Saturday Night Live has issued a heartfelt public appeal for assistance in locating his sister, who has been missing for over a month.

Public Plea from a Concerned Brother

Jimmy Fowlie has turned to social media to ask his followers and the wider public for help in finding his older sister, Christina Fowlie, also known by her married name Downer. In an emotional Instagram post, he stressed that her disappearance is entirely out of character.

"My sister is still missing. This is not like her, she’s never gone off the grid like this," Fowlie wrote. He confirmed that he last had contact with Christina on 26 November, and her social media accounts have been inactive since 15 December.

Details of the Disappearance

The 38-year-old woman was last seen in the Koreatown district of Los Angeles. Fowlie, along with friends, has been distributing missing person flyers in the area in an effort to gather any leads.

"Someone has seen her or knows something," he implored. The comedian began circulating posters to draw attention to the case last Monday. He has shared critical contact information, urging anyone with knowledge to call the Los Angeles Police Department on 213-996-1800 and reference case number 25237639.

Investigation Underway

In his updates, Fowlie noted that detectives are actively working on the case. "At this time the detectives have advised us not to share certain details so we don’t compromise the case," he stated, thanking everyone who has helped to spread the word.

The appeal has gained traction within the entertainment community, with several of Fowlie's SNL colleagues, including cast members Bowen Yang and Sarah Sherman, sharing the official missing person report on their own platforms.

Jimmy Fowlie rose to prominence by producing the LGBT-themed comedy web series Go-Go Boy Interrupted. He was hired as a writer for Saturday Night Live at the start of its 48th season in 2022.
