Pitt Star Slams Disruptive Broadway Audience Members

Isa Briones, known for her role as Dr. Trinity Santos on the Emmy-winning HBO drama The Pitt, has publicly criticised theatre audience members for disrupting performances with references to the medical series.

Briones, 27, is currently starring in the immersive Broadway jukebox musical Just in Time, taking over from Sarah Hyland to portray Connie Francis, the singer of hits like "Stupid Cupid" and "Who's Sorry Now?"

In an Instagram post, she wrote: "Hey, hey, hey! Once again, Broadway is not a circus. Do not yell whatever you want at the performers. Yelling 'When are you going to finish your charts?' before I sing 'Who's Sorry Now?' is f***ing disrespectful to the performers onstage and your fellow audience members. Y'all are p***in' me off."

She added: "Love and light and please remember you are occupying shared spaces and watching art."

This is not the first time Briones' show has faced such disruptions. In April, a fan shouted "Dr Santos" at her during a performance. At that time, she wrote on Instagram: "Do not talk to the performers while they are performing on stage (unless you have been asked to). And don't talk to me on stage and call me Dr Santos. I'm not Dr Santos. I'm not even Connie Francis. I am Isa Briones, one of the actors in the show you have paid to enjoy."

Briones made her Broadway debut in 2024 as Eurydice in Hadestown. Her limited run in Just in Time began in April, and she is expected to continue through the spring. The musical, which explores the life of Bobby Darin, received six nominations at the 2025 Tony Awards, including Best Leading Actor for Jonathan Groff as Darin.

The Pitt premiered its first season in 2025 to critical acclaim and became one of HBO's most-watched series. It earned 13 Emmy nominations and won five awards, including Best Drama Series and acting honours for Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa. Each season tracks a 15-hour shift in a busy Pittsburgh emergency room, with episodes covering one hour in the lives of overworked medical staff.

The second season premiered in January 2026, and the show has been renewed for a third season, though without the involvement of fan-favourite character Dr. Samira Mohan.
