Andrew Shared Afghan Memo with Epstein After Claiming Split

Fresh disclosures from the United States Department of Justice have unveiled that Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, involved the convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein in a confidential memorandum concerning investment opportunities in Afghanistan. This occurred mere weeks after the former royal publicly asserted he had severed all ties with the disgraced billionaire.

Confidential Briefing Shared Amidst War

Emails released as part of the latest tranche of over three million documents show that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor forwarded Epstein a briefing prepared by the UK-led Helmand Provincial Reconstruction Team. The document, titled 'Helmand Investment Opportunities Brief Final.doc', was sent on Christmas Eve in 2010, during the intense conflict against the Taliban.

In the correspondence, Andrew indicated that certain individuals would be 'very interested' in Epstein's 'comments, views or ideas' regarding the material. He further inquired 'as to whom I could also usefully show this to attract some interest', effectively looping the financier into sensitive diplomatic and commercial discussions.

Stark Contrast with Public Statements

This communication took place just weeks after Andrew's visit to Epstein's £60 million Manhattan residence in late 2010. The former prince later stated in his disastrous BBC Newsnight interview that this New York trip was intended to terminate their friendship, calling it 'the honourable and right thing to do'.

The visit itself occurred seventeen months after Epstein's release from jail for child sex offences. Andrew had obtained the Afghanistan document through his official role as the UK’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, a position he was forced to resign from in 2011 following the emergence of a photograph showing him walking with Epstein in New York's Central Park.

Political Pressure for Testimony

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has now explicitly called upon Prince Andrew to testify before the US Congress regarding his connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Speaking during the final leg of his visit to East Asia, Sir Keir emphasised a victim-centred approach.

'Firstly I always approach this question with the victims of Epstein in mind. Epstein's victims have to be the first priority,' the Prime Minister stated. 'Anybody who has got information should be prepared to share that information in whatever form they are asked to do that.'

Sir Keir's comments followed the publication of disturbing photographs within the released files, including images appearing to show Andrew crouched over an unidentified woman. When questioned on whether Andrew should apologise, the Prime Minister noted that was a matter for the individual, but reiterated the necessity of cooperation with investigations.

Further Personal Disclosures

The document release also contained deeply personal communications. The files reveal that Andrew sent festive emails to Epstein in 2011 and 2012 containing photographs of his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. The images were sent when Eugenie was 21 and 22, and Beatrice was 23 and 24, which was after Epstein's 2008 conviction for procuring a child for prostitution.

These intimate family snaps, portraying Andrew as a doting father, were dispatched up to two years after he claimed to have cut off all contact. This creates a stark contrast with the secretive lifestyle he and his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York, maintained amongst global elites.

Royal commentator Jennie Bond has suggested these latest revelations place Beatrice and Eugenie in 'trying times', as they contend with their father's increasingly humiliating position, largely ostracised from the core Royal Family.

The cumulative weight of these disclosures—from sharing confidential state-related documents to personal family photographs—presents a profoundly damaging picture of Prince Andrew's sustained association with Jeffrey Epstein, directly contradicting his previous assertions of a clean break.
