Forget cheering for touchdowns — some fans will be frantically refreshing Instagram for a chance at a free Chipotle burrito during the Patriots vs. Seahawks Super Bowl LX showdown. Chipotle Mexican Grill is launching a massive promotional giveaway, distributing an estimated $1 million worth of free meals to celebrate the big game.
How to Score Your Free Chipotle Bowl
The mechanism for claiming a free meal is time-sensitive and requires quick action. At some point after halftime and before the third quarter, when an AI-generated commercial plays, Chipotle will post a one-time 30-second Instagram Reel called “The Chipotle Realest 30.” The first 100,000 fans who text the code displayed in that Reel to the number 888222 will receive a complimentary entrée voucher.
“With our real ingredients, we don’t use any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives on our menu – so when AI shows up in a TV ad after halftime, we’re seizing that one moment to reward fans with what they really want: Real food,” Stephanie Perdue, Interim Chief Marketing Officer of Chipotle, explained in an official statement released on Tuesday.
Game Day Nacho Hacks Launch for Super Bowl Parties
In addition to the free entrée giveaway, Chipotle is introducing three special Game Day Nacho Hacks exclusively through its app and website. These offerings are available starting Thursday and will remain until Super Bowl Sunday, February 8.
For years, dedicated Chipotle enthusiasts have been creating their own “nacho hacks” using favorite menu items. Inspired directly by these fan-made combinations, Chipotle is officially adding nachos to its digital menu for the very first time.
Designed as a shareable, customizable option, the Game Day Nacho Hack is intended for groups of three to four people and promises pickup readiness in as little as 10 minutes.
- Chicken Option: Includes two high-protein cups of adobo chicken, two large bags of chips, two large sides of queso blanco, two large sides of guacamole, and two large sides of salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, and fresh tomato salsa.
- Steak Option: Offers the same setup, simply swapping the chicken for two high-protein cups of steak.
- Meat-Free Option: Features two large bags of chips, queso blanco, guacamole and the two salsa options for vegetarian customers.
Limited-Time Menu Item Returns
Separately, Chipotle recently announced the limited-time return of its popular Chicken al Pastor. This fan-favorite protein will reappear in restaurants for a limited period starting February 10. Chipotle Rewards members gain exclusive early access to order it on Monday, February 9, through the Chipotle app or the official website.
This Super Bowl promotion represents a significant marketing push by the fast-casual chain, blending digital engagement through Instagram with a tangible, high-value reward for its most attentive fans during one of television's most-watched events.
