When Ezana Bahru from Oregon, USA, decided to bring home a Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy, he received a specific assurance from the breeder. The seller confidently stated the pup would not grow larger than 30 pounds (approximately 13.6kg). Satisfied with this size estimate, which would suit many living situations, Ezana proceeded with the adoption in early 2025.
Initial videos he shared on Instagram showed him playing happily with the small, manageable puppy, seemingly confirming the breeder's prediction. However, the narrative was about to take a dramatic turn.
A Mammoth Surprise Months Later
Just a few months after the adoption, a very different picture emerged. Ezana posted a follow-up video to Instagram with a humorous caption highlighting the discrepancy. The text in the video starkly contrasted the initial promise with the new reality: “Seller: He won’t get bigger than 30lbs. Me: That’s perfect” cut to “100lbs later”.
The once-tiny puppy had transformed into a 100lb (over 45kg) behemoth, equivalent to around 7 stone. Far from being upset, Ezana saw the funny side, joking in the post's caption, “At least I know he ain't starving.”
