Reality television star Brandi Glanville has publicly criticized singer LeAnn Rimes for sharing a social media clip of herself undergoing a painful jaw release procedure. Glanville, aged 53, implied that Rimes, 43, might be copying her content creation strategies by posting such personal medical moments online.
Podcast Outburst and Questionable Judgment
During a recent episode of her Unfiltered podcast, Glanville expressed confusion over Rimes' decision to document the procedure. "I just don't know why you share that," Glanville stated, questioning the singer's social media judgment. "I don't understand why I saw [the clip]." The video showed Rimes appearing to be in excruciating pain as medical professionals worked on her jaw to address temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder.
Historical Bad Blood and Marital Betrayal
The criticism appears rooted in long-standing animosity between the two women, dating back nearly two decades to Rimes' affair with Glanville's then-husband Eddie Cibrian. The affair began on the set of the 2009 film Northern Lights, ultimately leading to the dissolution of Glanville's eight-year marriage to Cibrian. Cibrian, father to Glanville's sons Mason and Jake, went on to marry Rimes in April 2011.
Glanville, who also suffers from TMJ disorder and has undergone similar painful treatments numerous times, suggested Rimes was imitating her approach to sharing medical experiences. "Oh, like me - so weird - well I hope she feels better. Um, yeah," Glanville remarked when her cohost James Maas noted that Rimes was documenting her health journey.
The Controversial Video Content
In the viral clip, Rimes wept during the procedure while marveling at the tension released from her jaw. "Oh my God, you just don't realize how much tension is in there," a relieved Rimes said afterward. The procedure was conducted by practitioner Garry Lineham, who explained to Fox News Digital that stress and emotions stored in the body contributed to Rimes' strong reaction.
Lineham elaborated on the connection between stress and physical symptoms: "We hold emotions in our body - emotions cause a sympathetic response or a stress response. Stress impacts every disease, whether emotional or physical, and can activate genetic predispositions."
Past Betrayal and Emotional Wounds
Glanville has previously detailed the devastation of discovering Cibrian's infidelity through media reports. In a July 2021 opinion piece for The Sun, she described seeing video footage of Cibrian and Rimes kissing intimately. "It was devastating. I went straight home, passed out in my closet, cried and cried," Glanville recalled.
She revealed having prior suspicions about their relationship, despite Cibrian's denials. "I'd sometimes visit him on set and notice chemistry with certain co-stars," Glanville wrote. "He'd say I was jealous and that he loved me. Then I'd think it was my fault. But in my gut I knew I was probably right."
Reflecting on her broken marriage, Glanville added: "Eddie and I were together for 13 years and married for eight. We always promised each other that we would never get a divorce and that we'd love each other when we were old."
The ongoing tension between Glanville and Rimes continues to manifest through public exchanges and social media commentary, with this latest incident highlighting how past personal conflicts can resurface in unexpected ways through modern content sharing practices.
