Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan is reportedly facing another significant personal setback, as her ex-partner, footballer Scott Sinclair, has allegedly asked her to leave the family home they once shared.
A Home in Dispute: From Eight Beds to Potential Eviction
This latest development marks a new low in the pair's acrimonious split. Flanagan, 35, who shares three children with the former Manchester City midfielder, is said to be resisting the move from their six-bedroom house in Belmont, near Bolton. The property is understood to be in Sinclair's name.
Sinclair has reportedly offered to buy the actress a smaller four-bedroom home, even proposing to put it in her name. However, this offer is said to be contingent on stopping maintenance payments. A source told The Sun that Sinclair believes the current house is "way too big" for Flanagan alone with the kids, but she is "digging her heels in" due to the children's schooling and the proximity to her parents.
The Dramatic Decline in Finances
The housing dispute is set against a backdrop of serious financial difficulties for the TV personality. Flanagan's money troubles became public in January 2025 during a court case for a driving ban. Pleading exceptional hardship, she revealed her account was nearly empty after paying tax bills.
"I think there might be a perception maybe that I would easily be able to afford a driver, but that's quite far from the case," she told magistrates. She explained that getting her son to nursery via Uber would be "very expensive," adding, "I'm really struggling at the moment financially."
This is a stark contrast to her previous lifestyle. At the peak of her career, Flanagan earned an estimated £120,000 a year on Coronation Street and a reported £150,000 per week for appearing on I'm A Celebrity in 2012. Her former partner's football salary, once around £55,000 a week, also afforded a life of luxury.
By April 2025, she had already been forced to sell the couple's former eight-bedroom mansion, citing unaffordable upkeep.
Looking to the Future
Despite the challenges, Flanagan continues to work. She earned a reported £85,000 for a pantomime role over Christmas 2025 and maintains a strong social media presence with brand endorsements, including for Ann Summers.
Friends say she is keen to regain financial independence through acting and is ready to move on romantically. "Helen is definitely ready for love," a source told the Mirror, noting her priority is finding a partner who will also adore her three children.
The ongoing tension between the former couple was evident over the festive period when Flanagan publicly criticised Sinclair on social media for allegedly missing their son's nativity play to attend the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Mirror has contacted Scott Sinclair's representatives for comment.
