Amanda Owen's Bog Hazard Warning Sparks Fan Fears

Channel 4 star Amanda Owen, known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess, has prompted a wave of concern from her social media followers after posting a stark warning about a treacherous bog on her land.

A Chilling Discovery on the Moor

In a video update posted on 29 December 2025, the 51-year-old farmer and TV personality described the unbelievably cold conditions as she revisited a boggy area on the moor. She recounted a disturbing past discovery, revealing the spot had once been "absolutely full of sheep" that had perished there.

"I don't know how many of them must've been in there," Owen explained, recalling the grim scene of visible ear tags and a disgusting smell. She described probing the area with a stick, finding it "like, bottomless," and remained puzzled by what originally attracted the livestock to the lethal spot.

Fans Urge Caution After 'Deadly Sharp' Warning

Amanda Owen showed her audience that the hazardous bog has now been secured with fencing, which she called 'deadly sharp'. She issued a direct warning, stating, "You wouldn't want to fall in there, I tell you."

In her caption, she elaborated on the dangers, writing: "Once you've lost your footing and momentum, the mire can stop you in your tracks and hold you fast. If you don't drown, then you'll succumb to the elements."

Wave of Concern from Followers

The alarming update quickly drew reactions from worried fans, who flooded the comments with safety advice and shared their own frightening experiences.

  • One follower advised simply: "Be careful out there! Xx"
  • Another recounted: "I once got stuck in a bog along the Coast to Coast! Very dangerous, I was lucky."
  • A third shared a harrowing New Year's Day tale: "Stay safe! Last New Year's Day, I got stuck in mud had to shout my hubby, took him a bit to pull my boot out of the mud. Scared me for life. Take care out there xxx."

Others echoed the sentiment with messages like "Just stay safe" and "Take care and stay safe, and Happy New Year."

The farmer, who has previously spoken about hospital visits, is no stranger to the perils of rural life. Her series, Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, is currently available to watch on Channel 4.
