Alison Hammond's Boxing Workout Highlights 11-Stone Weight Loss Transformation
Alison Hammond has proudly displayed her remarkable 11-stone weight loss in a recent Instagram video, where she participated in an intense boxing session. The This Morning presenter, aged 51, shared the clip on Saturday, showcasing her dedication to fitness and health.
Five-Year Transformation Through Diet and Exercise
Over the past five years, Alison has undergone a significant transformation, shedding approximately 11 stone by making substantial changes to her diet and exercise routine. In the video, she appeared in a sleek black activewear set, engaging in a one-on-one training session that highlighted her padwork skills and energetic movements.
Completing her workout look with chunky black trainers and going makeup-free, Alison enthusiastically punched pads and moved around the room with vigor. She captioned the post with 'Yass @themccannic! Same time next week,' accompanied by flame and boxing glove emojis.
Incorporating Reformer Pilates and Circuit Classes
To maintain her weight loss, Alison has incorporated Reformer Pilates and early-morning circuit classes into her fitness regimen. She described herself as 'stiff as a board' and praised Pilates for making her feel incredible after sessions. Her circuit classes, led by Steve Hensel at Blue Zone, involve hour-long workouts starting at 6:30 AM.
However, Alison draws the line at certain wellness trends, such as cold plunge pools, which she tried briefly but found unbearable. In an interview with Closer Magazine, she humorously questioned the practice, saying, 'Why am I literally trying to kill myself?'
Weight Loss Without Jabs and Lifestyle Changes
Alison has opted against using weight loss jabs, citing fear from 'scary' stories, though she acknowledges they may benefit others. Her journey began after discovering she was pre-diabetic, a condition she has reversed through healthier food choices and consistent workouts.
On The Great British Bake Off, she manages to stay trim by only sampling cakes that receive high praise from judges Paul and Prue. Alison emphasizes moderation in her diet, stating, 'I don't deny myself anything, I eat everything, but in moderation.'
Personal Trainer and Family Influence
With the help of a personal trainer, Alison trains up to four days a week when not working, focusing on sessions that last about an hour. At her heaviest, she weighed 28 stone, but her commitment to fitness has led to this impressive loss.
The passing of her mother, Maria, in January 2020 from lung and liver cancer, further motivated Alison to overhaul her lifestyle for better health. This personal loss has driven her to maintain her fitness and well-being through disciplined routines.
Alison's story serves as an inspiration, demonstrating how dedication to exercise, balanced eating, and personal motivation can lead to transformative health results.
