Heather Graham Reveals Her Wellness Secrets at 56, Rejects Ozempic and Plastic Surgery
Heather Graham's Wellness Secrets: No Ozempic or Plastic Surgery

Heather Graham continues to captivate audiences with her radiant appearance at 56 years old, and the Hollywood actress has now opened up about the lifestyle choices that keep her looking and feeling fantastic. In a candid interview with UsWeekly, the star of The Hangover and the new film They Will Kill You detailed her approach to health, beauty, and personal fulfillment, firmly stating that her methods do not include trendy weight-loss drugs like Ozempic.

Diet and Exercise: A Balanced Approach

Graham admits to a past struggle with sugar addiction, recalling unhealthy habits from her early twenties. "I had unhealthy eating habits. In my early 20s, I was obsessed with sugar. I’d be like, ‘I don’t want to have dinner, so I’m going to eat eight candy bars or a pint of ice cream,’" she confessed. "Then I’d be like, ‘That was bad, so now I’m not going to eat any regular food.’ There was a period where I was eating frozen yogurt for dinner and lunch." She credits meditation with helping her transition to healthier eating patterns.

Today, she maintains a careful diet, avoiding sweets at home to prevent temptation, though she indulges occasionally—like with red velvet cookies from Beverly Hills Cookies. "I can have two cookies. But I can’t keep it in my house because I don’t have any control," she explained, humorously referencing a Sex and the City episode where Miranda battles brownie cravings.

Her fitness regimen is equally disciplined, incorporating daily yoga, meditation for mental clarity, and power walks to stay active. "If you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything," Graham emphasized. "It’s wild to see all these amazing, beautiful performers [who are] sick or dying. I’m lucky to be alive and healthy. That’s No. 1, over my career and over everything else."

Rejecting Ozempic and Plastic Surgery

While acknowledging the appeal of Ozempic for weight management, Graham expressed caution about potential long-term side effects. "I can totally see the appeal. Some people say it’s amazing, but I’m fearful people haven’t been taking it long enough to know if there are bad side effects," she said. "I’m just going more for working out and dieting."

She also takes a firm stance against invasive cosmetic procedures, preferring natural aging over surgical alterations. "I’ve never cut my face open. I’ve tried microneedling and Botox. I don’t have any filler now, but I’ve tried it. I’m more into lasers," she shared. "My goal is to look natural—I don’t want to look freaky. I wouldn’t completely rule it out, though." Graham believes it’s "better to look older" than risk a distorted appearance from plastic surgery.

Personal Life: Love, Loss, and Freedom

In the wide-ranging interview, Graham reflected on her romantic history, including her relationship with the late Heath Ledger in the early 2000s. "He was a very special person, and it was really devastating when he died," she recalled. "He obviously had his demons, but I’m grateful I got to know him. He was one of the big loves of my life. In fact, it was not good—I was slightly obsessed with him. But we live and learn."

She also discussed her decision not to marry or have children, attributing it to never finding the "perfect partner" for family life. "You put the love towards your friendships, your work… I like my freedom, and I’ve gotten to watch my friends’ kids grow up and have good relationships with them," she said. "There are moments where I wonder if it would’ve been fun—but it’s also fun not having kids." Graham isn’t opposed to marriage but values long-term compatibility, citing her parents’ unhappy union as a cautionary tale.

Recently, she ended a relationship with snowboarder John de Neufville, which lasted from 2022 to 2024, and found solace in music. "I recently went through a breakup, and I listened to the girl power, angry songs. Dua Lipa, Doechii, Cardi B, thank you for helping me through my breakup!" she shared.

Now, she is dating Italian director Michele Civetta, appreciating their shared unconventional outlook. "I feel like I’m unconventional. Most people are like, I need to get married. I need to have kids. I’m just not totally feeling that, and he’s kind of similar," Graham noted. "He was married, and he’s not opposed to marriage, but he feels like an unconventional person as well. It’s nice."

Through it all, Graham prioritizes self-esteem and personal fulfillment. "For me, it’s asking, ‘What do I want?’ Not, ‘Do you think I’m getting older?’ Or ‘How does everyone see me?’" she concluded. "I want to be telling my own stories, and I want to go on a yoga retreat and this is the kind of person I want to date and these are the friends I want to be around."
