Holly Willoughby has reportedly distanced herself from ITV to focus on the digital industry, and she appeared to reinforce this move with a striking new look at The King's Trust Invest in Futures: 50th Anniversary Gala. The event took place at The Chancery Rosewood on Thursday night, where the 45-year-old television personality turned heads in a sophisticated ensemble.
A Dramatic Transformation
Gone was the familiar icy blonde bob from her This Morning days, replaced by a warmer honey hue and longer locks styled in an elegant chignon bun. Holly modelled a plunging long-sleeved fitted dress, featuring white sleeves paired with a black bodice and skirt, creating a bold and glamorous statement. Her facial features appeared more chiselled, and she opted for a bolder makeup style than her previous daytime television look, hinting at a fresh chapter in her career.
Social Media Activity and Comeback Hints
In recent weeks, Holly has been far more active on social media, sharing snaps from holidays and offering fans glimpses into her enviable wardrobe. This increased presence is seen as a strategic move, aligning with her plans to transition from traditional TV to online platforms. According to sources, she is working on a new digital project that involves both producing and presenting her own show, to be streamed online.
Behind the Scenes of the New Venture
The project is self-funded and still in development, but Holly has enlisted impressive support. She is collaborating with a team at Hungry Bear, the television production company owned by her husband Dan Baldwin. Hungry Bear is known for hit shows such as Gladiators and Michael McIntyre's Big Show, both aired on BBC One. A friend of the star shared, "Holly has done television for 25 years and now she wants to make her own thing. Daytime television is on the slide, and she's excited about something new and innovative."
Turning Down Opportunities for a Fresh Start
Holly's determination to start afresh is evident in her decision to decline hosting ITV's You Bet! for a third time, despite having hosted two specials with Stephen Mulhern in 2024. The series has since been axed. This move follows a challenging period, including her departure from This Morning in October 2023 after a traumatic experience with former security guard Gavin Plumb, who was found guilty of plotting to kidnap, rape, and murder her. Additionally, she had a falling out with co-presenter Phillip Schofield.
Other Projects and Future Plans
Since leaving This Morning, Holly has worked on other projects, including hosting Dancing On Ice, which is currently "rested" with no plans for future series, and Bear Hunt, which was cancelled by Netflix after one season. A source explained, "While she still has a good relationship with ITV, she has walked away from shows there and has no intention to go back right now. She could have taken other opportunities, but she has an idea and knows if she doesn't do it now, she'll never know if it will work."
The source added, "Not only will she be in front of a camera, but she will be in charge behind it too, which is very exciting." This shift reflects broader changes in the television landscape, where content consumption is increasingly moving to platforms like TikTok and other digital mediums. Holly sees this as an opportunity to create something with a future, unlike her past work.
