Body Language Expert Analyses Andrew's Demeanour Following Epstein File Release
A prominent body language expert has provided an exclusive analysis of Prince Andrew's appearance in new photographs, suggesting the royal appears to be confronting the stark reality of his situation following the latest release of files connected to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
'Glassy-Eyed Stare' and 'Deliberately Blank' Features
Judi James, a leading body language analyst, told the Mirror that photographs of Andrew leaving his Royal Lodge home in his Range Rover showed him with a "very glassy-eyed stare" and "deliberately blank" features. She interpreted this as an attempt to mentally withdraw from his current circumstances.
"With his brows raised and little signs of tension in his face as he has one hand on the top of the steering wheel, Andrew has a very glassy-eyed stare here, as though he's trying to ignore what's around and in front of him in the real world and place his thoughts elsewhere," James stated.
She further suggested that Andrew's expression indicated he had exhausted his usual repertoire of public personas. "His features look deliberately blank here as though he's run through his shade chart of resilience, arrogance and even hilarity and has found himself finally out of preferred options in terms of a saleable narrative," the expert added.
Contrasting Poses During Weekend Horse Riding
The analysis also covered photographs taken on Saturday showing Andrew horse riding around the Royal Lodge grounds. James noted two distinct postures:
- Military-style posture: Some photos captured him with a straight back and one arm hanging at his side, a pose James likened to his former ceremonial appearances. "This pose looks like the one he would strike when in dress uniform on horseback at the Cenotaph, a military look that might be in his muscle memory," she observed.
- Slumped and grim-faced: Other images showed a different demeanour. "Then there are some photos that see him looking slightly slumped and grim-faced as though the reality of his situation might finally be kicking in," James concluded.
Political Pressure Mounts for Testimony
The body language analysis comes amid increasing political pressure for Andrew to provide information regarding his connections to Epstein. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated that the former duke "should be prepared" to testify before the US Congress.
Communities Secretary Steve Reed echoed this sentiment, asserting that Andrew "clearly has insight into what was going on." Mr Reed emphasised a moral obligation for those named in the files to assist victims.
"If anybody has information or evidence that they can share that might help to understand what's gone on and bring justice for those victims, then they should share it, whether that is Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, whether it's Lord Mandelson, or whether it's anybody else," Reed told Sky News. "They have a moral obligation to share what they knew so that the victims can help find the justice that they've been denied for so long."
Context of the Newly Released Files
The latest tranche of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, released over the weekend, includes a photograph depicting Andrew crouched over an unidentified woman. Furthermore, a woman has reportedly come forward alleging that Epstein arranged for her to spend a night with the then-prince in Windsor back in 2010.
Andrew was photographed today driving away from Royal Lodge, his Windsor home. He is due to vacate the property in the coming weeks following his eviction by King Charles last year, adding a tangible dimension to the personal and legal challenges he currently faces.
