Epstein Documents Reveal Duke's Email Exchanges About Russian Woman and Palace Meetings

The United States Department of Justice has published a substantial trove of documents relating to the notorious financier Jeffrey Epstein, with newly revealed emails appearing to show exchanges between Epstein and Prince Andrew discussing a Russian woman and potential meetings at Buckingham Palace.

Email Correspondence Details

Among the more than three million documents released on Friday, email exchanges from August 2010 show Epstein writing to an account labelled "The Duke" about introducing a friend. The financier, who had pleaded guilty two years earlier to soliciting a minor for prostitution, wrote: "I have a friend who I think you might enjoy having dinner with."

The response from "The Duke" stated: "Of course. I am in Geneva until the morning of 22nd but would be delighted to see her. Will she be bringing a message from you? Please give her my contact details to get in touch. A."

In subsequent correspondence, when asked for additional information about the woman, Epstein described her as "26, russian, clevere beautiful, trustworthy and yes she has your email." The Duke's account responded: "That was quick! How are you? Good to be free?" to which Epstein replied: "(redacted)..great to be free of many things."

Buckingham Palace Invitation

In a separate September 2010 exchange, Epstein indicated he was in London, prompting a response from The Duke: "I am just departing Scotland should be down by 1800. I'll ring you when I get down if you can give me a number to ring. Alternatively we could have dinner at Buckingham Palace and lots of privacy. A."

Further Revelations Involving Ghislaine Maxwell

The document release also includes exchanges between British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell and an account named "The Invisible Man," which appears to reference Prince Andrew through contextual clues. In August 2002 correspondence, the sender signed "A" discussed choosing to spend time with "Sarah and the kids" rather than visiting "the Island" where "5 stunning red heads" would be present.

Maxwell responded: "Andrew sweet heart – I fully understand if you want to spend time w/Sarah and the kids. I will not be remotely offended – sad not to spend time w/you and sad not to see you but at this point w/precious holidays and few days off I agree that this idea of coming to the Island looks less appealing."

When The Invisible Man confirmed he would not be attending, Maxwell wrote: "No problem, (redacted), who is now coming and 5 other stunning red heads will all just have to play with ourselves."

Historical Context and Aftermath

These documents form part of the ongoing "Epstein files" disclosures, following previous releases in December that included an email from Balmoral signed "A" requesting "inappropriate friends" from Maxwell. Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, with his death officially ruled a suicide.

Prince Andrew has consistently denied allegations of sexual assault made by Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was trafficked by Epstein. Despite maintaining he never met Ms Giuffre, the Duke settled a civil sexual assault claim with her for millions in 2022.

The publication of these documents has intensified scrutiny of Prince Andrew's relationship with the disgraced financier, contributing to his removal from royal duties in 2019 following a controversial BBC Newsnight interview. Subsequent developments, including the release of Ms Giuffre's posthumous memoir and further government document disclosures, led to King Charles officially stripping his brother of both his HRH style and prince title.
