Kyle Chrisley Arrested on 10 Charges After Threatening Police in Tennessee Meltdown
Kyle Chrisley arrested, threatened police in Tennessee

Kyle Chrisley, the 34-year-old son of reality television personalities Todd and Julie Chrisley, was arrested in Tennessee on Saturday night following a dramatic incident in which he allegedly threatened to kill police officers.

Aggressive Confrontation Leads to Multiple Charges

According to officials from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, the situation began when Kyle's spouse, Ashleigh, contacted authorities. She reported that he was behaving in a belligerent manner and creating a hazard by walking down the middle of a two-lane street as she followed in her vehicle.

When deputies arrived and attempted to speak with him, Chrisley reportedly became immediately aggressive. Law enforcement states that he charged at the officers, began throwing punches, and assaulted them. The altercation required the deployment of OC spray before he could be taken into custody around 7 p.m. local time.

A Lengthy List of Legal Accusations

Kyle Chrisley now faces a total of ten charges stemming from the incident. The primary accusations include domestic assault, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct. He is also being charged with assaulting a first responder, resisting arrest, and three counts connected to retaliation.

Following his arrest, he was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. He was later released on an $88,500 bond and is scheduled for an initial hearing on January 27.

A Troubled History and a Controversial Pardon

This arrest comes less than seven months after his parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were pardoned by former President Donald Trump in May. The couple had been convicted in 2022 for orchestrating a $30 million bank fraud and tax evasion scheme and were serving collective sentences of 17 years.

Kyle himself has a history of legal troubles. In March 2023, he turned himself in following an altercation with a supervisor at a truck rental company in Smyrna, Tennessee. His personal struggles, including battles with addiction and bipolar disorder, have been public, leading to his parents being awarded full custody of his daughter, Chloe, in 2016.

Despite past tensions, particularly after the custody arrangement, Kyle and his father had reconciled in recent years. In a July 2021 social media tribute, Kyle thanked Todd for guiding him "despite everything I've put him through."

While Todd and Julie Chrisley served their sentences, their daughter Savannah campaigned for their release and was informed directly by President Trump of the pardon decision. When asked about remorse following his release, Todd Chrisley denied any wrongdoing, claiming corruption in their case.
