Arsenal's £200m Transfer Plans Hit by Key Striker Setbacks
Arsenal £200m Transfer Plans Hit by Striker Setbacks

Mikel Arteta has encountered significant obstacles in his pursuit of two high-profile strikers, with a combined valuation exceeding £200 million. The Arsenal manager is already planning for the summer transfer window, even as his current squad stands on the brink of a historic double, just three games away from securing both the Premier League title and the Champions League trophy.

The Gunners' fate in the league rests in their own hands after a crucial victory over West Ham, ending a title drought dating back to 2004. Upcoming fixtures include a home match against Burnley and a final-day trip to Crystal Palace. The season culminates in the Champions League final on May 30, where Arsenal aim to avenge last year's defeat to Paris Saint-Germain and claim their first European Cup.

PSG Enter Race for Julian Alvarez

Paris Saint-Germain have intensified their interest in Julian Alvarez, a primary target for Arsenal's sporting director Andrea Berta. Alvarez, who scored against Arsenal in the Champions League semi-finals, is valued between £100 million and £148 million by Atletico Madrid. PSG head coach Luis Enrique has specifically requested the club's board to sign the Argentine, having failed to do so two years ago. Barcelona are also in the race, but PSG are financially equipped to outbid Arsenal. Atletico manager Diego Simeone acknowledged the interest, stating, "It's normal that an extraordinary player like Julian Alvarez is wanted by Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona."

Bournemouth Refuse to Sell Eli Junior Kroupi

Arsenal's hopes of signing Bournemouth's teenage sensation Eli Junior Kroupi have been dashed. Cherries chief Tiago Pinto declared that the 19-year-old French striker, who has scored 12 league goals this season, is not for sale even if offered £85 million. Pinto stated, "Junior Kroupi will not be leaving the club. His contract is for more than four years, there is no release clause, and he will not be going anywhere." When pressed on a potential price, Pinto added, "We will not sell Kroupi even if we receive offers of €100 million (£85m)."

These setbacks complicate Arsenal's ambitious summer plans, as Arteta looks to strengthen his attack for the challenges ahead.
