Hull City Eye Everton Midfielder Tim Iroegbunam in £20m Transfer
Hull City Target Everton's Iroegbunam in £20m Deal

Hull City are considering a move for Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam as the newly promoted Tigers seek to strengthen their squad ahead of their Premier League opener against Manchester United on August 22.

Interest in Iroegbunam

Tim Iroegbunam is among several new signings Hull are evaluating, but the former West Brom and Aston Villa youngster, who won the European Under-19 Championship with England, is of particular interest, according to our sister website Hull Live.

City are eager to enhance their midfield options with pace and physicality, and the Everton man is regarded as a gifted player at an ideal age with top-flight experience.

Transfer Details

Iroegbunam joined Everton from Aston Villa two years ago for a reported £9m fee and has one year remaining on his contract. It's understood the Blues would be willing to permit the former QPR loanee to depart this summer, provided Hull match the valuation, believed to be around £20m. That figure could be lowered given he is entering the final year of his contract.

Player Profile

Last season, Iroegbunam featured 29 times in the Premier League for David Moyes' side, building on 18 appearances in the previous campaign. Before his move to Merseyside, he made 12 top-flight appearances for Aston Villa and has limited experience in the Conference League with his hometown club.

Other Interest

Hull are not the only club tracking Iroegbunam, who nearly left Everton in January. Newly promoted Ipswich Town have also been credited with interest.

Meanwhile, despite reports that Hull were eager to secure former Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge, Hull Live understands the Norway international is not a live target for the Championship play-off winners. Berge, currently competing for Norway at the World Cup, has also been linked with a move to Everton.
