Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could return to the UK in July, according to reports. The couple, who stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and moved to the USA, have faced criticism and fallen out with most senior members of the Royal Family. However, a return could benefit Meghan's lifestyle brand, As Ever, which launched in 2025 and sells homeware and food items including candles, wine, jam, and chocolate boxes.
Royal Biographer Highlights the Dilemma
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward told New Magazine: "It could be a very good move for her business, but it leaves her with a bit of a crisis because coming to a country where she is so disliked won't be easy." Seward noted that As Ever has a regal feel, so close relationships with the Royal Family would be beneficial.
The Couple's Planned Visit
The couple will make a trip to the UK for the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games. This visit comes amid reports that As Ever is allegedly struggling financially, according to the International Business Times.
Meghan's Vision for As Ever
When Meghan first introduced As Ever on Instagram, she explained the meaning behind the name: "'As ever' means 'as it's always been.' If you've followed me since my days of creating The Tig, you'll know this couldn't be truer for me." She added: "This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language—beautifully weaving together everything I cherish: food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday."
Background on the Sussexes' Exit
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first announced their intention to "step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family" via Instagram. The move was not well received by large numbers of people. Journalist Sarah Vine said the Sussexes "hardly had a chance to understand what the job really entails before handing in their resignation."
