HSBC UK Doubles Premier Account Switching Incentive to £500
HSBC UK has announced a significant enhancement to its Premier banking offer, doubling the cashback incentive for new customers to £500 effective immediately. This move represents a substantial increase from the previous £250 promotion launched in March 2026.
Enhanced Offer Details and Eligibility
The bank confirmed that eligible customers can receive £500 cashback when they switch their current account to an HSBC Premier Bank Account using the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) and meet specific account criteria. Crucially, customers who applied under the previous £250 offer will also receive the full £500 payment, ensuring no one misses out on the enhanced incentive.
To qualify for this reward, applicants must meet one of two financial thresholds:
- Pay an annual personal salary of £100,000 or more into the account
- Open a Premier account and maintain £100,000 or more in savings and investments with HSBC UK

The bank stated that this enhanced offer forms part of HSBC UK's broader focus on supporting customers in building financial resilience and growing their wealth. This initiative follows the recent introduction of an ISA incentive designed to encourage savers to maximise their annual tax-free allowance.
Comprehensive Benefits for Premier Customers
New customers could potentially earn up to £1,000 in cashback by combining both the switching incentive and ISA promotion. Beyond financial incentives, Premier account holders gain access to an extensive range of exclusive benefits:
- Health benefits and services provided by Square Health, including digital GP appointments, mental health support, and second medical opinions for family members
- Free worldwide travel insurance covering the entire family, including dependents up to age 23
- Preferential rates on foreign exchange and international payments
- Support from a dedicated team of wealth specialists
- Preferential rates on loans, mortgages, and savings products
Specific Eligibility Requirements and Restrictions
Applicants must be UK residents aged 18 or over and open an HSBC UK Premier Bank Account between March 23, 2026, and the offer's withdrawal date. Within 90 days of account opening, they must complete a full switch using CASS while meeting the financial criteria, which typically involves paying in at least £5,100 monthly or maintaining £100,000 in savings and investments.
Important restrictions apply: Existing HSBC UK or first direct current account holders, or those who held such accounts on or after January 1, 2025, do not qualify. Customers must continue meeting eligibility criteria to maintain their Premier status, with HSBC reserving the right to review accounts if qualifications lapse.
Reward Payment and Account Considerations
After meeting all requirements, the £500 cash reward will be paid into the new Premier Account within 70 days. The offer is limited to one per person, with joint account holders receiving only one welcome bonus per account rather than individual payments. The reward will only be paid if customers remain eligible with an open, unrestricted account at the time of payment.
HSBC UK reserves the right to withdraw the offer without prior notice at any time. However, customers who have already requested a switch will still receive the offer if they meet all requirements before any withdrawal occurs.
